Only Happens Once ???

I've seen the "bunt home run" a time or two myself. It has never happened to our team but I'm sure it will one day.

My dd was playing in a 12u tourn. and there was a runner on 1st and she was on 3rd they walked the next batter to load bases but my dd just started jogging home and the catcher had the ball in her hand and just watched her go across the plate. wounder if you could get by with that at an older level lol.I sure am glad she picked up softball because I sure have met some nice girls, parents, and coaches. Thanks to everyone who has made this game what it is today

Playing NSA in Kville a couple of years ago.

Player hits a bomb to the fence, but is injured and can only make it to second. Coach puts my DD on bag to run, next batter is the pitcher, she hits a double, coach puts my DD back out on 2nd for the pitcher. Next batter is the catcher, again a double changing places, he puts her back out to run for the catcher.

OK, so by this time she should be on deck and is standing on 2nd. I look at the coach and remind him. "Not a problem, she'll be right in, sure enough girl at bat hits a triple. My DD crosses the plate, walks to the dugout, grabs her bat and hits for herself. Scored 3 runs in 1 inning and didn't even hit a single.

Dad, I remember that and the team we played was the Raptors in the Western Steer tournament ( NSA hosted by The Raptors and Howard Edwards )when Sheena and Jennifer was still playing. On our way home on hwy 152 Rick got pulled over by a state trooper for speeding. I showed him the trophy and he just gave him a warning.

 

My DD Sam was playing with the Lady Warriors out of Lexington. She was playing short stop and was hit a ground ball near the middle and dove to catch it. She the proceeded to dive/crawl toward the bag and got the runner going to second out. She got up with the biggest smile on her face!! My youngest DD actually caught the moment she came up with her hair flying and the biggest smile I have ever seen on film. Needless to say she still is in the dirt at least one time or more a game!!!!!

I was there and it was a tremendous play by a great kid.

 

I HOPE IT HAPPENS ONLY ONCE....

....my DD hit a bleeder between 1st and 2nd. 1st fields ball in the gap, relays the ball to a charging 2nd baseman who collided with DD at the bag. Result: Youv'e heard of braces being cut out of a kids mouth, YEP, and I watched! Heres the kicker! The face mask on the helmet was driven up into my DDs mouth. Oh yeah, no doubt face masks are a must, but how about an improved chinstrap?

 

I did have a girl last year have a foul ball get in between the mask and resulted in a concussion ....but would have hate to seen what it would have been without the mask though ....... OUCH !!!!!!!
