COACH

When Grayson was coaching KM she had an assistant, Coach Sweezy (sp?) that worked with the pitchers.

Christy is an amazing young lady, I too think she will do great if given the chance and assistance to succeed! She was great with the girls as a tournament coach! The girls really related well with her. She know the game.

 

Others

Other good ones! Coach Poindexter of Central Davidson, Pop and Mike Steward at Forest Hills, Mike Lambros already mentioned and of course Monte. Coaches at Butler were never really given a bunch of credit but they took the talent and got them to play as a team. Had to do something right. As mentioned, I was impressed with Coach Grayson. She brought almost her whole team to a Lady Blues Showcase Day and was right there cheering them on and assisting them anyway she could. Then they went to play a rained out playoff game in the afternoon. Can U say DEDICATION

I don't see how anybody could not see the value of a good hs coach with a passion for the game. I think tb is tops in competition and thats where most get seen, but hs ball has it's place and is very important to most of the girls. Go to nd and tell them that mike lambross is phlughhhhh and you'll find out if it's not important!!! and NO my dd does not go to nd, but he is a great coach

....pal. They are. But this thread boasting whos best is the same CRAP the the blues gold folks slung around as the " holyer than thou" position. Now that some unfortunate things have come into place with that group, many others are chuckling, at least under their breath, at how the so called mighty fall. Thats not positive period. But its human nature. Lifting up ANY coach HS or TB, etc. will result in good times. I applaud that. BUT when the bad times roll your way, take it like a man. AND don't ask TBR to close the thread when your oil well dries up. Oh, no offense intended to you personally, I enjoy your posts, JW

WE'LL... I just thought it might be a good topic that could get different peoples thoughts on hs coaches and programs. My dd does not and probably will not ever be able to play gold $ for anybody, Please can we not have a post without bringing up gold? I was not a part of the gold team and know nothing about it and really don't care about it because it had nothing to do with my dd.

...that I used, blues gold, is a touchy subject, apparently for some. I appreciate your post and its positive intent. But its just the type of arena that opens up stabbing wounds. In the front and back.
FYI, I personally think that HS, TB, and gold are great for promoting Fpitch. Sometimes we all lose focus on the fact that its a game, and the real winners who play the game are the ones who grow up knowing how to act when they are faced with a loss or a win. To me, the coach that can connect to a kid in some way that she uses what she learned from the coach is the one that should be applauded. Do I want to win? You damn right I do. Let the girls bats do the talking. The rest will take care of itself. Marlin, who now CLOSES his input on this thread. PEACE.
