Mr Marlin, if U want to call me and talk to me about the Gold team, the concept, the value, the issues, or anything softball related, I am willing to talk! If U want to spread rumors, gloat about the seperation, and laugh under your breath or openly forget it. The Lady Blues as far as I know have done nothing to U nor have the leaders of the Blues tried to act like we were better than thou. We have worked hard just like many other teams and organizations and with that have had our share of problems along the way. I am not a moderator or do I have any power over this board. What else do U want? Hey, say what ever U want to about me but leave the girls who are Blues out of it! The Gold player enjoyed it and worked hard to raise the money, the A team did the same, so let the girls enjoy their success and effort and attack me with a vengance if that makes U feel good and will allow all others to feel good! I can take the attacks as I have already taken many from within. I refuse to allow my girls to take heat for me so bring it own and I hope it makes U feel like a big MAN. 704-841-7946 my number, call and let it all out and then let it go.:detective:

    I'm with you LDFRDGUY

I think the reason for this thread (before it got off base ) was to recognize the hard working, unselfish, and sucessful coaches in our state. I do not recogize several names mentioned but now that they have been listed would like to see them work their teams during games. This thread was intended to name some of the best coaches, not try to pick the best. To be mentioned by such a knowlegeable group on TBR should have been a positive act. One would appreciate any of the before mentioned coaches' efforts more if one had to struggle through softball season after season with a football coach posing as a softball coach.

    OK

Marlin, we spoke, enjoyed our conversation, probably a little over sensitive given all that has occurred. I really appreciate you calling, showed class and gave me a chance to make another friend in softball! Thanks!

Gentlemen, again, we seem to be reading more into a post than was written. I know is kinda boring right now, but lets not drift into classic arguements about any subject. we dont need the DRAMA right now. Some great hs coaches out there, some never get the recognition they deserve.

    How about this guy:

Walt Wallace, Hunter Huss. now here's a guy who coaches an inner city school. talent is thin, wins are hard to come by with our departure of the senior class two years ago, in fact, they won one game last year. but get this, seven girls who graduated have come back to help train the varsity/jv team just to help out their former coach. How many coaches do you know have graduates come back into town and a priority is to see their former hs coach??

This guy becomes a father to all his players, great demeanor, great teacher, excellent leader and sets the most excellent example of any coach i have ever had the pleasure to work under or with. He is a true hs coach, teacher, coach, always setting an excellent example to his students. we may not win a lot of games, but he makes the hs experience a memory that his player will always cherish.

at hunter huss, we have a pitching coach, former player, she's the asst varsity coach and handles pitching, catching and calling of pitches. does a great job working year around with the girls for very little pay balancing college, work and hs ball.

OK Woody......I see you're causing an uproar again !!
Just kidding, was a great topic.
My picks would be Gene Poindexter (Central Davidson) and Mike Lambros ( North Davidson).

Just a side note..... Maybe in about 4 years or so, we'll have that at our school. Britt wants to go to college, become a teacher, and come back to her HS and rebuild the program that was once there.

    Take care "troublemaker"
Come see us in Salisbury this weekend if ya get a chance.
First game is Saturday morning @ 10.
