Sball1987 posted a good thread on the running, so how about let's hear from some other 07's, on how college training, & school life adjustments have been.

    '07's in college

My dd talks about how hard the conditioning has been, but helpful too. The practices are long. So, with that said, she is managing very well, so far making A's and B's with one not so good grade on her 1st test in Microbiology, but feels that after seeing the first one, she knows how to better prepare. She loves everything about college and softball but is having roommate issues, nothing major, just two totally different people in every way. They are like night and day, but she's learning to deal with it. I have heard of some real horror stories concerning this same thing, so hers is a piece of cake compared to the others. So far so good.

first year is not only a wake up call on how conditioning really works, but its also a culture shock for most girls. my adopted daughter came real close to not making the grade academically last year, did super in softball, leading in most catagories, but da books suffered. has turned it around this year and gained confidence in how to manage time for softball and studying.

    It will work out.....

I think just about everyone has roommate issues at first, if they didn't know their roommate before getting there, meaning being friends already. There are in deed some real horror stories. Those dorm rooms are awfully small, Ha Ha!
My dd has absolutely no spare time, in between the workouts, classes and the dreaded homework. But she is loving the college experience and is glad she is doing it. The time management issues are working themselves out, as she goes. They find out real quick that no one is going to keep on them about their work, they have to expect it from theirself. The old "sink or swim" thing. It is a real eye opener to some! But we all have to take those final steps to growing up! It gets easier!

    It gets better

Thanks. I know it will and it will only make her a stronger more confident person in the long run. Yes, the conditioning was an eye opener because she (and we) thought she was in GREAT shape and then she was like oh my gosh, I can't believe how hard this is! You're right about no spare time either, none as a matter of fact. I got a phone call last night during the premier of Survivor (how dare she) asking if she could invite a few of the softball team tonight for dinner at our house for a home cooked meal, of course I said yes, and now I'm fixing Manicotti, salad and garlic bread for 6 and maybe more. But that's ok, I'm glad she's bonding with them. Where is your dd at school?
