Everybody sleeping on the Titans friday night which is fine with me. Everybody thinks Freedom is going to bust out and win big just because they are playing McDowell, well don't include me in that group. You look at the last two games Freedom has played, they gave up a ton of Roberson and a ton to Asheville. What do those two teams have in common? They can run the ball pretty well. If you are Terrance Kincaid and the McDowell offense you got be licking your chops right now.

The key as always will be the Titan defense. Haynie had a true heart-to-heart lecture to his defense friday night after being down 26-7 at the half and it seemed to look like the light bulb finally clicked on.

Then you got to look at Freedom...they are 0-4 and while I always believe playing a tough schedule is good, you can also end up having it backfire on you by being so battered and bruised that you can't recover in time. Remember it happened to them last year, they didn't win their games until at the very end of the season. Last years game in Morganton was close and I expect the same again this year.

Alex Central @ Reynolds- Reynolds with another big game from spencer
East Burke vs. South- East Burke, souths defense just aint good enough i dont think to play the pass or the big runners of eb
Freedom @ McDowell- McDowell with yet another big night from kincaid and a step up again from the defense. Freedom is big and athletic, but hopefully the losses keep coming even though they have been to perennial powers asheville, roberson, crest and shelby.
Watauga vs Shelby-shelby just cause they are shelby and winning is what they do whether its by 30 or like last week by 7

Alexander Central at AC Reynolds....The Cougars will score 21 points because their passing is that good but they will give up at least 40 because their defense is that bad

East Burke at South Caldwell....This is a rebound game for one of the two teams. East Burke will win by 2 touchdowns

Freedom at McDowell.....Freedom is an enigma. Too much schedule early and I don't know if they have an offense but I'll take the Patriots on a hunch. Sure would not be shocked to see McDowell win though.

Watauga at Shelby....Shelby's speed will give Watuga fits but the Pioneers will make it closer than some might think. Shelby by 10

Reynolds(45-7)- I doubt AC will score on ACR like they did on WHS
East Burke(21-17)- I think it will be close. Still not convinced that East Burke is really that good
Freedom(17-7)- Defense will win this one for them
Watauga(21-14)- I think the Davie Co. game has deceived most people. The 1st half of that game was closer to what WHS is made of. We have finally found our passing game which will make Shelby's practices a little more hectic this week. If we protect the QB, we win. Oh, I propose a foot race after the game. Let's put an end to this myth.
