Because we do not want to promote the "I" in kids but only the Team all box scores will be posted the following way.

    Ridgemont HS 3 - 9 - 2
    Ridgewood HS 1 -7 - 1

#31 Pitched for Ridgemont went 7 innings
#12 Pitched for Ridgewood went 7 innings

    Hitting - Ridgemont #2 2-4 #24 2-3
    Ridgewood #13 2-3 #11 2-2

Side note: #2 for Ridgemont recently gave a verbal to NC State.

This way we get the information out to everyone but we do not promote so much "I" and focus more on the team. And plus we dont want to upset anyone about talking about a kid if we can not mention them all.

    Let me show you Dawg

    South Charlotte Panthers
    #2 - 2 Catcher
    #10- 1 Pitcher
    #11- 3 Firstbase
    #31- 4 Second Base
    #21- 5 Third Base
    #9- 6 Short Stop
    #4- 7 Left Field
    #7- 8 Center Field
    #14- 9 Right Field
    #33- DH DH

Then you can put all your subs in as well. Once a name can be associated with a players number you must change his jersey number. If a player signs with a college you must only list his number as stated above.

    Finally

I've been waiting to see team batting averages for quite some time. I thought I was the only one.

Rules? Is that what we are about now?

I could care less about what #21 did in his last start. Or what #9's batting average is. I want to know who these kids are. I think most people here can see through the obvious self promotion and exagerations that sometimes slip in.

    As Braves described TBR recently:

"It's sole purpose is to promote every HS player deserving attention. Does he have to the the stud....of course not. There are many, many players that are mentioned on here who never will have an opportunity to play baseball beyond HS. But the fact that the one game they made the heroic play or the game ending hit and was mentioned on this board is something that will be remembered by the player and his family.

Mentioning a player in a positive way, helping to inform families of the recruiting process and to get good feedback from the parents, coaches and players about HS baseball is the only purpose of this board.

Other topics are obviously brought up, but it is not nor ever will be the intent or purpose of this site.

I know other people would like to turn TBR into something they want; to discuss what they want, to say what they want. But I started this for the reasons that I gave. I hope people can benefit by some of the information that is provided by the members. But I quit worrying a long time ago about expanding the purposes of TBR. I feel comfortable about the purpose of why I started it (I'll be glad to discuss it with anyone in a PM) and I doubt that my thought will ever change.

I'm sorry we are not the "everything" some people would like to see....and I understand how you feel, but to think this started from a couple of guys that were tired of reading rants, slams, trash talking and attacks and decided to start are own site with our own purpose....we've done alright!"

Well while we are at it lets just assign each HS a number. Don't want to upset the HS that may have lost in the last game they played.

Wait. Nope that won't work because each school will know each others number.

I know. Lets just get rid of all numbers. Even jersey numbers. Don't really need score boards either.

Lets just gather in center field, build a campfire and sing Kumbiya.

I hope that this is a joke!!!!

I know (as well as others on the board) a lot of kids that play at different schools in the area. If the names aren't mentioned, how do you expect us to follow the guys. This is a bad idea fellows. Why not give a player his due anyway? If you stick to this policy, I can promise you that you will lose people.

There's a difference coach and you know it. I think it was you that started the original thread then later deleted your initial post. Game summaries are a totally different matter and you know it.

People seem to get a little edgy around here when someone disagrees with someone. I guess we all need to get on the same kool-aid.
