September 1st is the official start of the NCFSCA Membership Drive for the 2007-2008 year. The Executive Board has set a goal of doubling the size of our membership this year and that goal is completely within reason. The more full and associate members we can enlist means more scholarship money that can be given to the girls. I am proud of the fact that the NCFSCA raised the scholarship money this year from 4 $250.00 gifts to 4 $500.00 gifts. Our number one priority as an Association is to promote the girls and the sport. This raising of scholarship monies is just another example of that promotion. Scholarship awards next year will be based on the membership dues collected in the 2007-2008 membership drive. I would implore all high school and middle school coaches to join our Association and I am personally inviting you to do so. Also, there are many wonderful softball personalities on TBR. Plenty of dedicated travel ball coaches, parents, and friends of the game. I would ask that you would also consider joining as an Associate member/friend of the Association for $20.00. Some of the most knowledgeable and caring friends of softball in this State frequent TBR. Why not chip in your $20.00 toward more scholarship monies for the girls? Our Association dedicated themselves at the annual meeting in Greensboro to make membership and information the number one goal for this year. All of the other endeavors we have done in the past will continue. Awards, polls, All-Star games, and post-season All-Star teams have now become part of what we do each year as an Association. Please consider joining this year. Don't say I am going to do that and then forget to send in the application or leave it on your desk somewhere. Our membership wants this to be the breakout year for all who want to be a part of what we are trying to accomplish. Again, please give this invitation some serious thought. We would love to have you on board. Applications can be downloaded from the www.ncfastpitch.org website and the mailing information is listed on the form. It will only take a little time and effort on your part. Please make that effort!

    Thank you in advance,

    Eddie "Pop" Rivers

Our organization, mainly with Pop's leadership, has put softball at another level in recognizing players from around the state and contributing to advance their education. In the old days, many of the other sports had a represented voice with the NCHSAA, now softball is on the same playing field. As the membership grows, so does the power of our voice. I would urge everyone to help promote the organization to reach it's potential.

    Thanks!

Thanks to all the TBR faithful who have made contact asking about joining or contributing to the NCFSCA. I know there are others out there who would like to help out in some way either by joining as an Associate member or making a contribution that will go directly to the scholarship fund for the next year. Go to www.ncfastpitch.org for the membership application or PM me if you have questions concerning the NCFSCA or the scholarship fund. We really appreciate the TBR members "stepping up to the plate" for the girls.

    After 1 Month

The membership drive for the 2007-2008 year is now officially one month in. New memberships have come in during the month of September. Let's continue to work in communicating with coaches across the State. I have had plenty of responses from the TBR faithful and our Association really appreciates you guys joining as associate members. If you haven't joined as of yet, let today be the day. Thanks to all who continue to support our Association and the ladies who play the game.

    membership drive

Pop Rivers caught me at CP saturday, after an hour discussion, i joined the association and my other coaches will join it also. Think about it, scholarships for deserving individuals, with the scholarships increasing every year... great idea. this association needs your help!!! we need to have our voices heard in Raleigh and Pop is the one to do it. We all know that some things need to change for the betterment of the sport in NC and the only way i see it changing is to group together and force them to hear us out as a GROUP!!!!! $40.00 for a coach and $20.00 for an associate member is not asking much. Pop told me they have recruited over 100 members and that number needs to double or triple. So people, jump on this and become a member.

Oh yeah, met Pop Rivers daughter, Kimberly??? (still bad at names), 7th grader, tall as me, athletic build and gonna be a player!!! Hope she grows into dem feet!!!!!! Great kid, very respectful and still follows her dad around (i think i lost me dd about the age of 14 - know what i mean??) lol

    JOIN THE ASSOCIATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He Is A Young "POP" !!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Pop Rivers at Cherry Park @ the TBR tent on Saturday, and guys he is a young man, don't go by the word "POP",he is lot younger than I am, Guru fits my age...LOL...He had his very lovely DD with him ,and she is a respectable as Cheeze says !!! Of course Cheeze was trying to sell her a bat:26::14:.........LOL...J/k !! I really enjoyed his input on a few issues, and thanks for the compliments from him on some of my threads..LOL ...On a serious note it would be to your high school coaches advantage to join the NCFSCA to better your kids chances to be reconized for their academics/talents,and to further their opportunity to reach their goals toward college entry through this organization.

My man cheeze is the bomb. If any of you guys don't know this guy, you need to go meet him and definately give him some business. Great person, Great coach, and great friend. I've seen more selfless acts of charity out of this guy than most of us put together. Thanks again cheeze and please tell the missus and Morgan thank you for letting you come out and play with the TBR's this weekend. And sign up for the coaches association. I'm signing up to be an associate member. You DON'T have to be a high school coach and anyone that cares about fastpitch in North Carolina should be a member. Thanks Pops
