East Burke is good this year, and Alexander not so much, bummer of a game for homecoming. Cavs take this one by 21

Freedom looked good early, then almost blew the game in Marion. At home I would give them a shot, in asheville Rockets take it by 2 touchdowns

McDowell coming to boone will be a good matchup. Until Watauga's offense comes on the field. Buggygets 40+ carries in another loss, Pioneers roll on homecoming night, and win by 28

South has a great shot at this one, they may have some trouble putting points on the board though.

    East Burke wins easily...

Freedom and Reynolds IMO will be closer than many think...I was very impressed by the Freedom defense. I thought they did an excellent job friday night considering everything. 90 percent of Kincaid's yards came on 3 carries. Reynolds wins at home anywhere from 7-10 point margin.

McDowell/Watauga game I think could be the game of the week in the conference. I have confidence in the Titans that they will not be down after the way they loss to Freedom. McDowell defense lately while not stopping the other team in terms of giving up yardage has forced some turnovers at just the right time. Kincaid will not have 40 carries as some may suggest, he'll once again end up with between 25-30 carries and still get 200-plus yards. I just don't see the Watauga defensive front being as good as Freedom so Buggy may be able to get his more custimary 8,9,10 yard gains and then bust the long run. I look for a large representation by the McDowell folks but Watauga wins this one at home by 9 points.

South Caldwell beats the bye in a squeaker...

MCDOWELL- everyone can pick against them thats fine but we will surprise someone real soon so why not watauga on their homecoming? homecomings can be motivators for both teams- its kinda a slap in the face to the titans so we will see how they respond. kincaid will get 200 plus and get the titans back to 2-1 in the conf.

seems like mcdowell had rather kincaid get his yards than win the football game.its hard to think that he is the only one on the team that can make plays. mcdowell has allways had some kids that have some speed.i just dont think that the talent has drop off that much.

well mtnman i can tell you havent been to many games this year. i know 3-4 of the coaches personally and they all want to win. secondly i have been to every game and the only kid that can run besides kincaid is amerto and hes more quick than fast. the defenses of even south caldwell ran amerto down. u cant teach speed you either have it or you dont. the kids at mcdowell have been slowly on the decline since the early 90's. the only difference when i played was size. now we dont have that so you tell me what you are gonna do when you have to play 150-160 lb linebackers and put your best receiving threrat at qb? it has nothing to do with mcdowell just wanting to get buggy his yards if so hed be averaging 30-40 carries(which hes avg. 26). The whole co. wants to start winning but without alot of athletes its hard to do that. I want to see them win more than anyone but reality has to be looked at. just think how its gonna be when they build the new high school.
