i have not seen mcdowell play i live in watauga co.and i maybe out of line here, but back when i played mcdowell allways had some good players.why does not some of the kids that play bball not play football? that bball team is full of speed, like i said i am out of line for saying that they dont want to win for that i am sorry.do they ever fake the ball to kincaid and give some kids a chance to make a play ,every defence mcdowell plays know who gettting the ball it should open something up for somebody to help make plays.

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
Or next year when the man graduates! Of course Eric B, Spencer also will graduate this year as well. So the conference next year should be interesting at the TB position.

OK, here's a few things to remember about the Titan offense...

The coaches changed to the spread because for one reason they didn't feel like they had a suitable guy in the traditional fullback position. That leaves Buggy and the QB as the only running options. If you took the average Buggy carries it 27 times per game which is not an excessive amount of carries for a good running back, and I would guess Amerto gets 4 or 5 designed runs per game. Then in the passing game I would say McDowell has averaged probably 12 pass attempts per game.

If you were to total all those numbers Buggy is called on about 61 percent of the total plays in the course of a game. Execution is more the issue especially in the passing game. McDowell for example was 3-8 passing in the Freedom game with 40 yards passing. BTW, 23 of that came on the halfback pass that Kincaid threw. I think if you asked anybody going into the season they would say for McDowell to win they will have to out-score you. I also beleive the fact that Amerto had to move back to QB has resulted in a more conservative play-calling.

its just hard to think that mcdowell does not have someone in the school that can play some football, watauga done the same thing last year with eric, but they also knew that was not good for the team or eric and work very hard at camps ,and 7 on 7 in the offseason and has helped .eric is getting it 15-20 times a game.well bigdan thanks for the info good luck friday and the rest of the season,i am a watauga fan and will be going for watauga friday.and my nephew seth moore plays basketball at montreat and i got to meet whiteside from mcdowell seems like a good young man.

to be perfectly honest...i dont understand why everyone thinks ac is going to get ran all over...dont forget they have very powerful offensive weapons...i dont think that its fair to them to say that they loose by 24...the young cougar squad is a close team...and they are probably one of the most physical teams around...so before you write off their season look at the improvements they have made so far...besides when you go to Taylorsville...you are playing 12 players because their fan support there is outstanding...i pick ac over east burke simply because i think they have improved and east burke is going to come in a little big headed after a win last week...

I agree the cougars are getting better each week.. Everybody picked them to lose last week to ACR by 20 or more an had chances to win but only lost by 10 at ACR.. If I'm not mistaken didnt ACR beat East Burke by 7 @ East Burke. Also it is HOMECOMING!! Don't count these guys out..

Alexander is in the same boat as McDowell. They have to out score the opponent to win. And quite frankly thier offence can do it, against East though im not as sure. McDowell-Alexander could be a VERY good game, with lots of points!

Time will only tell. I believe AC vs East Burke is gonna be a show. AC might not win but it will be close than everyone is leading it out to be
