Are there many HS teams that take advantage of fall work outs? What are the dates that these workouts are allowed. We had a couple last month because of a very dedicated assistant coach,(head coach is a football coach) unfortunately not many young ladies chose to take advantege of this opportunity. Anyway the legal limit of players that can attend is 8, is this correct? Thanks for any input.

8 is the limit, unless doing an open field then you can have as many as you want, but no instruction can be done. This can happen in every month but August and November

    Thanks

What do you mean by open field? Are supervised drills considered instruction? Or the kids are invited to workout with no coaches and doing their own routines and at that you can have as many as you want? Thanks for the info....

Yes, usually teams will have leaders that have been through the program. They organize the open field just like the coach being there. The better the program the more organized the open field will be.

The 8 players instructional workouts are usually organized for pitchers/catchers one day alternating with position players the next. Then they will rotate players throughout the week.

    your opinions please

Do you think it is worth fall workouts to do alot of hitting as opposed to team/ defense work and base running. I'm not sure muscle memory for hitting will hold up with the long lay off of Dec./Jan. Thanks for any input.

    my 2 cents

Most players who truly want to get better will work hard on all aspects of their game in the off season. At the very least, my DD will take one day of just hitting drills. (tee work, wiffles, deflated basketballs, pitching machine, one leg swings, and some live pitching if I'm not scared...LOL). If you do not stay focused on your hitting, I feel it takes longer to catch up. Mix it up, keep it fun.

    Question

Can I as a dad grab 12 girls from the high school team (JV and Varsity) and go play a tournament? I do not get paid just want to get a group and go play.
Is there any issues with that?

practicing in two different locations is common and to my understanding within the rules. the only thing is that you cant have the players going from one location to the other the same day.
