PG/WWBA World Series in Jupiter

Spread out in this environment you will see a Lou Piniella, Davey Johnson, other managers that are not in the World Series. Roger Clemens was there for the whole tournament a couple of years ago watching his son Kody play. Very gracious, very relaxed and very willing to take pictures with the players.

The team from Puerto Rico brings a "band" of followers including marraccas and drums. The Miami group always brings a legion of very vocal fans. They play with a certain sauciness that their fans love and opponents hate. (That team may have been banned.)

You have all of the major bat and glove distributors set up with tents. (anything new is introduced at this tournament).

You have major baseball from early morning til late at night...everyday! For the unsigned seniors this is an unbelievable opportunity. You and your parents will have an opportunity to speak with any and every college imagined.

Oh...and a couple of other things. You will be able to distinguish the college and pro scouts by their clothes. College- shorts/school hat... Pro- long pants, flowered shirts. And all of the agents will have their cell phones in each ear.

It's a once in a lifetime experience.....enjoy!!!!!!

 

Just for information--the VA Hurricanes are playing in the underclassman tournament also---this team has several members from east of the Great Pee Dee River in North Carolina---

The Dirtbags 18's

will be going again. Last year they finished in 3rd place. I know the Hurricanes and the SCP are going. Im not sure if anymore teams from NC are going this year or not.

I'm pretty sure that On Deck will be there. They've been going since the inaugural season

 

What are the "feature" games?

 

Thursday night, Perfect Games has an opening ceremony. After the ceremony, they play the inaugural game in the stadium that Braves' built. It's always a great event. Many of the scouts start coming in on Thursday, many teams do, too. Everybody attends the 1st games just to soak in the atmosphere. It's probably the most watched game(s) in the whole tournament

 

Something for the players. There will be hundreds of scouts there to see you along with every other player there. Don't go out and try to be someone your not and never stop hustling. Go out there and have the most fun you can and enjoy every second of it. I had the pleasure of playing with some of the best ball players from the 04 On Deck team. Nobody gave us a chance because the #1 and #4 teams were in our bracket. After some intense games we won our bracket and went on the beat the East Cobb Braves in the top of the 7th and ended up finishing 3rd after losign to eventual champs EC Astros. I am not trying to brag on myself or that team but the point is that anything is possible. Nobody thought we would do what we did but we had trust in the guy beside us and that is what got us through. When we stepped between the gates it was a war and we had that mentality til we walked through the gates after the game. No matter who you play always believe in yourself and your team and enjoy every moment down there.

Ok well our coaches and parents believed in us. We needed one more arm and staff the championship game.
