Intra-squad Scrimmages- date, time???

Could this be a softball scrimmage? They have been going on for the last couple of weeks.

 

I doubt you will see many scrimmages against other teams.. for BASEBALL

Belmont Abbey is usually split into 3 teams . In the past they play 2 days or games and off 1 for a month..

but things could have changed...

 

Mars Hill

I believe Mars Hill starts their 30 day inter-squad next Sat the 29th, not sure of the time yet, but I am thinking around noon.

 

Maybe thats it.

GWU has been holding intrasquad scrimmages for a few weeks. Wed and Sun, usually.

 

Winston Salem State is moving to D1 in sports. Baseball probably is a required add-on to make that happen. But I haven't heard of a single player recruited by them here locally.

As for Belmont Abbey: they did some needed field maintenance (laser leveled around the infield) a week or so ago. So Ty tells me the Scrimmages will be shoved back until at least next week, which is later than usual.

Also Ty says Coach Smith intends to have more practices & less scrimmages. I don't think the Development Squad will participate in the scrimmages (they played a game already against Guilford Tech).

I spoke with one of the coaches today and he mentioned that the first intra-squad scrimmage will be next Wednesday.

 

Belmont Abbey Alumni baseball game

I wanted to let anyone interested know that Belmont Abbey College will be having an alumni baseball game on Sat. Oct. 6th at 9:30 am. Please pass the word to any former players or coaches you may know. If yourself or someone you know plans to attend please send me a private message so I can count you in for the game.

BLUE RIDGE

Blue Ridge Community College is to scrimmage @ Young Harris College today. A double header starting at 5:00. It is raining now but the boys are on the bus right now heading that way. I won't be making the trip today.

Sunday Oct 7 @ 1:00 Blue Ridge is scrimmaging Mars Hill JV double header.

Next week there is a big Junior college scrimmage tournament at Tusculum College. I only have BRCC schedule:

2:00 BRCC vs. Vol St

Sunday Oct 14
1:00 BRCC vs Roane St
7:00 BRCC vs Wilkes Comm Coll

It is worth the trip to see the facilities at Tusculum. The Baseball field is beautiful. This would be a good place to play for that reason. I don't know much about their program though. Maybe someone on TBR knows more.
The campus is in Greeneville, TN

 

LCLefty plays there. It is beautiful field. Also, they have one of the top D2 baseball programs in the country.
