Neither of those 2 are the head coach. The head coach is Chandelle Schulte.

Her other assistants are listed on this page...

Not sure of the entire situation but if everything happened the way it is being reported, it is a sad commentary on our profession. We cry every year for kids to honor their commitments. Many times, they do not. But when something like this happens, it is sad. Pulling stunts like this can give a coach and a program a major reputation problem. The vast majority of coaches do not do this. Some coaches choose a different method. I have had a personal run-in with this particular coach when she was at College of Charleston. One of her former assistants contacted several players in the Peach Belt with the intent of recruiting them away from us. Jerry Snyder at USC Aiken lost one of his program's best players that way. I nearly lost one of mine. The assistant was fired but there may be a pattern here.

There usually is, but what goes around comes around. The college coaching circle is a small community

    Early Commitments

I posted our experience with this coach on page one of this thread. She was the first to offer to my DD. We made it clear from day 1 that we were going to take our official visits and not commit until after those (fall of senior year). She seemed OK with this, probably because she felt (and rightly so) that Charleston was my DD #1 choice. The official visits change all this, however. Interestingly, this coach was the only one who did not take 'rejection' well. Our family still maintains contact and good relationships with all the other coaches who recruited my DD except for this coach.

I strongly urge all parents and players to take this approach. If early offers come simply respond by saying you're looking forward to the official visit and plan to delay your final decision until those visits are complete. If a coach can't live with this then you need to look elsewhere.

Unfortunately, broken commitment (from both ends) are likely to become more common as recruiting becomes earlier and earlier. Ultimately, the college coaches have only themselves to blame as they both make the rules and control the $$.
