My son played 2 years for Freddie Suggs. Freddie is like a second dad to him. The previous post are dead on the money in saying that Freddie calls it the way he sees it. He told my son that he cant hit ( he was right ). However he could pitch, and Freddie told him that too. Hes pitching D1 college ball now.Point is, my son would reach up and grab the moon for Freddie if he asked him too. Freddie is one of our heros.

Freddy is a first class guy who knows the game and knows what it takes for players to succeed at the college and pro level. He is well-respected as a scout. Anyone who plays for him is fortunate. He is as honest an evaluator as I have seen, and he truly does everything for love of the game and for his players.

Yes, Freddy is an outstanding coach and scout. My son has truly enjoyed playing on his team the last two years. He does tell it like it is....he will flat out tell you if you can play or not. He doesn't tell you what you want to hear...he basically tells you what he feels your abilities are now and in the future. He has a very likable personality....every player that I know has enjoyed playing on his team. He cuts up but is serious as well. Yes....we were playing in the first game of back to back games at Coastal and it started raining. It came down in buckets off and on for about an hour and the forecast was more showers......he continued to tell the other coaches and umpires...let's wait a little bit longer, it's clearing up. He wanted his players to play....he was very upset about not getting to play all of the games to give all of his players a opportunity to be seen.
He pulls players to the side and talks about what they did wrong and what they need to do to improve the next time they show up for a game.

Oh yeah, last year....he saw something in my son that basically was a career saver. He spotted it soon enough that he was able to correct before it was too late.
Also, this man loves to talk baseball....it's his life.....he has time for every player and every parent that wants to ask a question or to talk about their kid. He's just a very personal guy and he loves to talk!

I am just seeking information because I have heard about things that are going on. It is not as simple as just saying that I would like to play for anyone, I would have to tryout first. I have seen the website for ccsports and it mentions tryouts but there are no dates posted yet. I appreciate all of the input.

If you are interested in Freddy taking a look at you or your son, call him using the phone number on ccprospects and discuss it with him. With Freddy, it is as simple as that!!

    Freddie's awesome.

Goes against the grain. In it for the kids, and a baseball guy. What more could you ask for. If I had to do it again. I would play for him.

    Watch out for Megaphones!
