Batting Helmet Question

    The spyder mask sits further off my face than the rip-it and the schutt....it's not like, "right there"...if you know what I mean...and I use the chin strap too, and it keeps it snug....lemme go find a pic of my helmet on my head.....

    IMHO I think all softballl gurls should have mandatory masks! I know I don' t , well didn t want to EVER see my daughter take one in the face!!!!! Right Dads???

    very true Oriole, not only the thought of messing up that beautiful smile every daughter has, but the potential surgery it might take to put it back together. helmets are mandatory in hs now, and in our program, face shields will be mandatory for pitchers and thirdbasemen this year, they wont like it, but they'll do it for themselves.

    I think I pulled that one to left field, and it just barely missed going over......That one was with my 04 RT....I MISS that bat....

    One of my teammates thought it was a baton, and threw it. She didn't "toss" it, she threw it, you know, like it was flipping end over end......and when it hit, it hit hard and cracked the barrel.......
    I was MAD...and so was my mom....:furious3:

    She didn't even say she was sorry! :smack:

    Anyway, that is the BEST facemask EVER...and they come in all colors. The team I was playing for in this picture folded, and it didn't match their colors anyway. But the team I am playing for now is Navy, Carolina blue and white, so we have ordered the Adams helmet in navy and the mask in white....tell me what you think!

    ....friend. No doubt facemasks are a must. And, this post, as to which might be the best is awesome. I only offer my insight in this as it applies directly to the purpose of a chinstrap. No helmut that I'm aware of has the so called football helmut chinstrap. You all know what I'm refering to here. The bulky, plastic/rubber gig we wore in highschool and college. ......My point....If the chinstrap only keeps your helmut on your head, yep, the only intention, keep it on your head, and it keeps it on your head in a game, then it did its job. Right, but a valuable component in any protective device should take into consideration what possible damage and/or injury that said component might be apart of. ..A good example is a car windshield or glass shower doors, they are designed to be seen through but if they break they don't shatter causing injury as if they were made the same as say a tea glass. Off my point now but I hope ya'll see where I'm going.

    Worth....updated chin straps

    Worth has actually come out with a protective chin strap on the 2008
    model helmets... I just got my new helmet for the 2008 season....

    While the NCAA does not require face masks.... I do at Peace....
    One foul ball injury that knocks out some teeth, is one foul ball too many....

    I had some resistance at first from my kids....but I gave them 2 choices

    1. Wear it

    2. Don't play....

    Everyone chose number 1.... :huh2: go figure
