Blues have been going to Plantation for five years this fall and have won or tied our bracket every year but one. Triangle Ligthing, Dominators, Challengers, Cardinals, Crushers have all gone to tourney and done well. Crush out of SC does pretty good as well.
Great tournament, lots of great teams, lots of college coaches but U must get at Bamford or Picolo to get the most looks! Goal is to get on Bamford field 7! That is the field! #8 and #9 or good as well. The Blues/Legacy are on Bamford #8 this fall.

    speaking in regards to...

Charlotte and closer surrounding counties. It was just over three years ago that I was recruiting at this tournament and there were maybe three or four NC teams attending consistently & of course I watched the Blues, Challengers & Cardinals. I think it is wonderful more Carolina Teams are attending and playing a such a high level and holding their own and beating the best! In answering the original poster's question about teams attending from the area, I was speaking of Charlotte and close counties, not Raleigh or SC. In comparison to the number of teams fielded in NC, the vast majority are not ASA Gold or A's, including my own team. That is OK, just stating the facts and why more of us are not down there. You can bet I would have my team in this tournament if we were Gold or A. Even at the other parks, you will get more looks there then some of the other showcases around here that are smaller due to the number of coaches in attendance, just might not be from the schools you have had your mind / heart set on. That is a great reason why you should always keep an open mind until it is time to start narrowing things down. Food for thought; if your DD wants to play locally or even regionally here in SC / NC...does she need to be on a team going to RS, Colorado, NJ or some of the other tournaments that cost more money to get seen? What I did look for were that the kids I recruited were playing a year round & competitive schedule and not just showcases so I know they were used to competing for a position on the clay and a win for the team. That is where a lot of us start anyway.

    Wash out!

Just heard that first day of tournament play at Plantation has been canceled. Hopefully the rain will let up so that games can be played on Saturday and Sunday, however....forecast looks bleak.

    Coaches,Coaches and more Coaches!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although rain shortened, un-believable number of colleges represented. We had twenty six coaches at our first game and at last count 23 coaches at our second. Well attended, however, expensive for two games.
    Airline Tickets for two $650.00
    Rental Car $150.00
    Hotel $329.00
    Food, Etc. $300.00
Watching you daughter being watched by college coaches, you know,
    "PRICELESS"
Thank You Coach O for the opportunity!

    NC Domintors Gold 18U

This is the third Rising Stars event we have attended and we have done very well in Florida. We only got 3 games in...all were on Saturday. We won 2 games and tied 1 game. I would say there were more coaches at our first 2 games than there were fans. Flordia State, Virginia, Miami, UNCW, and Georgia Tech just to name a few. Last year we got 4 games in and won 3 and lost 1. Most, if not all, of the NC teams we have played this year would do fine down there!

    Team TFS

Team TFS 18u was 3-1 this past weekend at Rising Stars. It is the 2nd time at Rising Stars we've won our pool. We are biding our time and hopefully will get to play at Bamford Park soon. To my best count we had, or that I know, we had 6 coaches stop by our games. 4 of those specifically came to watch one of my players. We were stuck playing at Sunset Park on a 375' baseball field. This seemed like a step down versus a step up after playing at Brian Picolo Park in January. You would think that with all the money Rising Stars and the City brings in off of Rising Stars tournaments that they would at least put up temporary fencing on all the fields like they do at Bamford. It is tough trying to explain to your kids when they see all the coaches at Bamford why we're not playing there. Even worse when they say so and so and so and so is playing at Bamford and we've beaten them. They don't understand/hard for them to understand that it is "hopefully" based on seniority. Disappointing that on Sunday morning there was not an overwhelming amount of college coaches at Sunset especially when all games had been cancelled at Bamford, Piccolo, and Central.
