    Congrats to NC Sun Devil and Alexander Central Senior 3B/OF Ashley Benfield. She committed today to Julie Kennedy at Lees McCrae College. We are very proud of you Ashley and wish you the best of luck!!

    She is the 4th Sun Devil to committ this year. Jordan Poarch and Jessie Taylor to Mars Hill, and Ashley Harrell to UNC-Pemborke.

    Conrats to all of you and good luck..

    ..... to Ashley for making it to the next level. It is always special when a Carolina girl commits to a college. Shows NC is coming around with its level of talent. Coach Thad Fox, Freedom HS & the Sun Devils are lucky to have you as a coach because " you care."

    And from what I'm hearing there is another 2 or 3 ( 09's ) on that team that already have colleges looking to pick them up !!!

    We have six 2009 kids on our roster and all of them have received some major looks from all sizes of colleges. I've been very pleased with the amount of conversations I have had with college coaches about this group. The kids are tickled to get the letters and such, they are doing their part with the emails and returning of all letters, some are planning to attend their camps and junior visit days.

    We have a very good group of young kids and just added some very strong 2010 kids. Our hope is to keep this group togther for a couple years and try to make a strong run at getting in the Nationals. Hopefully we will be lucky enough to get there, as our goal is to get them all choices to colleges they want to attend.
