Up until last night I would have thought that Alexander Central had a very good shot at winning in Boone, but after that performance against South Caldwell, I would be shocked. South Caldwell dominated the Cougars and to be honest the 28-12 score was not that close.

    Rebutal...

I agree with you some what wiseone, but you have to take in to account the emtion that was involved in that game for the Cougars for obvious reasons....I mean the WRers were dropping balls, D wasn't wrapping up, I mean the D comes out on first, second, and some of the third series in a base D when we have been virtually holden teams to bay on the running attack the last five weeks (since Watauga) in the "RUN STOP D",... and we are in "that D" (Base D).... taking Honeycutt #44 out on them "Running Stop D" attempts.....(coaching mistake).....(worse game since the 1st of the season no doubt), but I think it has to do with factors that probably had their mind state elsewhere....(not making excuses b/c excuses are for losers)... That last drive of the game was something POSTITIVE that they (Cougars) can build on going into Boone this coming friday........ I feel that was being very tough mentaly for the Cougars O to come out on that drive and to do what they did after the "Nightmare" the O had been in the 1st 4 & 1/2 quaters..... Go Gougars!.........

watauga will take this one,but have to be ready to play,if achs has any pride they will get after it because of what happen the last time they came to boone,if watauga gets up early could be another big win for watauga,if they let achs stay close could be a dog fight.but i think snow will have they boys ready to play . whs 31-10

Depending on what Alexander brings this one could be good. Traditional rivals and a playoff game make it very interesting. Watauga has played great the last few weeks, @ South 27-7, @ Freedom 27-8 and then as everybody knows the biggest ACR 25-13. The Pioneers look to be hot at the right time. Alexander seemed to be doing the same until whatever happened last week, so we'll just have to wait and see

If the Cougars can control the ball better this game I think this is a winnable game. With the being said they're going to have to do what they did to Kincaid in the Second Half, If the cougars stop EB and defend the pass as good as they have been doing then its going to be a good one. Watauga is playing good football at the right time and the young Cougars were up until friday night But like you all said its about pride now and if they have any pride about them at all then they'll make it a game. It seemed to me that their minds were some where else Friday night.

The cold weather could be a factor.......I am sure that AC has not forgotten the beating they took in the regular season......If Watauga thinks AC is going to roll over, it may be a long night for the Pioneers...... I guess we'll just have to wait and see on Fri night!

either way...all the teams in the NW4A are pretty good teams...i believe we got more than anyone else...we have five out of seven teams in the playoffs total and that reps the conference well...good luck NW4A
