In Order for the cougars to win they're going to have to believe in themselves first.

Their O-line is Better than given credit for.
    Defense HAS to step up
Russell Needs to have a better game.

I think that Watauga will have to make mistakes for the Cougars to win......AC was playing better up until the SC game....Watauga has played steady and the win over ACR has given them a boost......Watauga is going to know exactly what AC will try to do....AC will know the same....the key will be containing EB.

Cougar football 40 - I agree with you to a certain extend, that Russell will have to play as well as he did last time against Watauga and then some, probably.... according on how well the D plays (they can stop them).... But if your making reference to last fridays game against SC then I am not sure what you are talking about b/c if you seen the game I seen yes, Russell could have played a lil more crisp and was probably not as crisp as he as been in the last few games, BUT..... I think you have to look at the WR as well, several times the WR and the route running was very questionable... (expectation to this: Dale Webb, GREAT game!) i mean sometimes they did not even run the route let a long the right one.... I am just saying give a more complete evaluation of the game b4 you cut down a teammate (not sure if you play on this team, but I would say so....)

It's the D that will have to step up for the cougars if they are to keep this one close. Eric is coming off back to back 200 yard games and last time these two played Watauga put up 40 in the first half. So as I see it, the D needs to step up more than anything.

AC will have to run the ball well to win this game (IMO)

In the 4 wins AC has had they have averaged 92.1 yds rushing while only 199yds passing....in the 7 losses they have averaged 227yds passing and only 42.4yds rushing....

    WHS-35, AC-7

I am picking Watauga big and this has nothing to do with not respecting AC. They have had a pretty good year considering what all they lost last year. Until last Friday, I would have picked their coach for COY. Now I believe that ACR's coach should win it. He has done great job getting that ACR team to the record that they have.

Breitenstein was coming off of badly bruised ribs in our 1st game with AC and only carried the ball 14 times. He seems to be healthy and we are hitting on all cylinders. Plus, once we water down the field and make it like an ice rink, it will be hard for AC's receivers to run routes.

By the way, I thinks it stinks that NW4A teams have to play each other this early?

watering the field? what are you guys talkin about?
not that my opinion matters but looks as if the pioneers are firing on all cylinders now. i was one of the biggest skeptics but like i said last week you have 2 look at reality and reality is pioneers are winning. ac couldnt stop the pioneers last time and i dont see that changing that much considering south beat them last week. russell will have to have a big one and defense will to play their best game of the year. not saying it cant be done im just going with the traditional pick. alexander can have a little hope i did pick reynolds to dominate last week and i was posting apologies this morning to the whs fans.
-goodluck to all nw4a teams throughout the playoffs.

some of acr fans said we watered the field down before the game, there players had a hard time staying on there feet, were slipping down alot from both teams.so they said that our coach had the field wet to slow down all that speed they have, but i saw no one slip down on eric 59 yard td on the 5-6 play of the game,he out ran them ,dont know how because he loos like he is just jogging but you cant catch him when he breaks open

well mcdowells players were slippin every where too but it wasnt b/c it was watered(and that was the first week of october i think before it was even cold up there)- guess some people always have excuses.

yea i noticed that with eric when he runs he looks effortless. i dont think that acrs defense is that fast in the open field there strength is the seven men in the box. i can see eric pulling away hes got good speed. not 4.3 but hes good enough that if you dont have an angle (unless you are spencers speed) you wont catch him.
