Listen to what Rodney has said..... YOU HAVE TO EARN YOUR WAY..

I can remember watching Rodney's team 5 years ago at an offsite location
( Not Bamford ) and his team did fine... How did I know where he was...
They called me.. sent me emails... They did the "grunt" work...
and made sure his kids got seen....

And now he has the privledge to play at Bamford...... Because he earned it..

Just because you won the "Kinston Open", or the "Morganton Invitational"
does not mean you have EARNED anything...

    In other news.....
I just returned from Las Vegas, where Triple Crown Sports, the folks
that run the "Sparkler and Firecracker" during the summer, hosted the
    City of Lights Fall showcase.

This was run in the same format as the Queen of Diamonds showcase that was held over Labor day weekend...
The only difference, was that the teams were coached by College Coaches instead of travel coaches.... It was a great weekend, and saw alot of talent......but I didn't see anything that I couldn't get in NC...

Didn't matter, D1, D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO.... Our kids could play with everyone there....

    Play Nice..

You should have to earn your way to good fields. Our team had to. We were even worried about getting in Dynamites, didn't Hot Times 1st yr, let alone best fields. We had to win our pools each time, & finish top 10 in elimination. Then, you get good pools & fields.

the last year i coached the 18s we went down to plantation. It was our first time there. We had to play on the fields at the Miami Dolphins practice field. The complex was not good...fields were ok. But we had a good number of coaches there to watch us...all games. If there is a player that they are interested in,they will do whatever to make sure they watch that player play that weekend. Plus the players got to do their job by emailing coaches on times and what fields they are playing on. Sometimes it does not matter what fields you are on.

    ????

I'm sure he has done it for cheaper, as have hundreds of other kids that were at the same tournament. But this was an experience he was willing to do for his daughter. No one can control what happens with the weather.

I too remember those days with Rodney, being stuck on the other fields. I was coaching right along side him and Monie. We did pay our dues at first. We played games at Piccilo, Driftwood heck I think even one year we were stuck at Nova fields playing games. Weren't we Rodney? But coaches came because the girls did their homework and made their contacts. Rodney and the coaching staff also worked to make sure coaches knew where we were playing. If the kids do their homework and reach out to coaches they will make an effort to come and watch.

$ has never mattered to me, I either have it or I don't! What does matter is providing the best opportunities for my family and this was a great one for my DD. I also have two other children who play traveling sports, and I provide for them as well. With my support all three children are excelling both Academically and Athletically. Thus................"Priceless"!!!!!!!!!!!
