Now, Let me say that I will more than likely start a riot with this. I would like to see the unknown 09's that on on the move. The guys that are waiting for their chance. I would like to see the undiscovered guys. We all know of the 09's that are making some noise now. Critia for post name, school, stats if any.

If you have the skills put them up. This thread is about up and coming players. If you have an AD that does nothing I would take it to the head master.

    stats

Freshman:3-0 in 4 starts with 2.35 era, averaged 2 k's per inning. Hit over .350
    Sophomore:6-3 in 10 starts, 2 saves 3.75 era 42 innings 42 k's. Hit safely in 22 straight games. Batting average-over .340

I have been on my school's varsity team since the 6th grade and have played some form of aau/usssa from the age of 8-14, when i had to take a year off due to injury. My school(Salem Baptist, Located in Winston-Salem) plays about 20 regular season games.I played during middle school but don't feel the need to list those.

I dont know why this thread

    would start a riot.

Josh Darroach 09 RHP 6'0 185 South Granville HS
Josh was our #3 last year behind Chris Luck Tamp Bay 07 and Pratt Maynard NC State 08. He will get a chance to pitch some big games for us this year. He is an 83-84 mph guy with a very good deuce and a decent change up that will hopefully get better over the off season. Josh throws strikes and competes. If our off season program continues to get the results we have seen in the past I look for him to be in the 84-86 range by the spring. Great kid from a great family.

Robert Long 09 INF Riverside HS
Robert is a great athlete with very good speed. He has good hands and a very good arm. He can swing it from the right side and plays very hard. He is a versatile player and he will be one of the better 09's in the Pac-6 this year.

Tyler Deloach 09 LHP Roanoke Rapids HS
At 6'5" this lhp is going to be a force in the Northern Carolinas 2-A conference for Coach Snead and the Yellow Jackets. Roanoke Rapids has produced some tremendous arms over the years and Tyler is in line to be another one. He is in the 83-85 range with a nice deuce. This kid has a chance to be very very good.

    Ok start the riot! :wings:

Well its apparent that playing at a private school means you don't play the toughest of teams, not saying that I have seen you play or who you play but just guessing, because it would be impossible for a 6th grader to play on any decent public high school. But those are good stats.

    Doing your own recruiting

First of all I dont know many AD's that recruit college's for players in HS. There is only so much the HS coach can do. Call schools for you but then they have to see you play. You have to take the lead in this. College camps. Showcase events. Get on a showcase team. Play legion baseball etc etc. The fact that you play at a small private school is no reason you can not get out in the summer and or fall and get some exposure. On this board you will see a thread about a showcase at Belmont Abbey. Very inexpensive and I understand its outstanding. Your stats are not going to be important to a college coach. HS stats as far as recruiting are not very meaningfull to say the least. Someone needs to see you play. The HS season is tough for college coaches because they are playing as well. Did you attend any showcase events this summer or fall? Did you attend any college prospect camps? Are you planning on attending any winter camps?

I was recently invited to a camp in Lowell, Mass- which is put on by the Lowell Spinners,Single-A affiliate of the Red Sox. I am unable to attend because of the distance. My teammate and long friend recently went to showcases at belmont abbey, barton, and montrease. He said that montrease's coach told him that if he was to attend their school then he would have a spot on the jv team and by his sophomore year he would be playing on the varsity team. I'll take any suggestions, as I'm starting preseason workouts this weekend.
