Jordan Benton-Asheville High(IF/OF) 5'10" 160lbs: MAC 3A all-conference as a junior, batted around .440. Can and does go yard. Saw him hit two in one game last year. Great speed-6.7ish. Smart player, very gritty

I know you didn't mean any disrespect, and I actually thought you might have been doing that. But it wouldn't be bad to post all the guys, IMO, because JUCOs are still looking too. And many of the JUCOs are giving scholly's now, I think.

I hope I didn't come across as rude, though, because I didn't mean to if I did. I just wanted to make a point that sometimes guys do overcome obstacles. I still respect you OLD guys! HAHA

Thanks for the validation of moms...you might be sorry though...lol!

I was out working this morning and just thinking about why I mentioned the players I did and maybe not others who I think are talented as well. What I came up with was this.... Ian, Brett, Jeremy, Sammy, and Eric are all probably overlooked by some becuase they do not have the monster body that some think players need. What they do have is the passion for the game and the talent to back it up. They want to face the best pitcher on the opposing team, they want the ball to be hit to them in the bottom of the 9th, with 2 outs, bases loaded and up by one, they want to be hitting in the bottom of the 9th with a runner in scoring position and down by one. These young men, although smaller in size than some, have work ethic, baseball smarts, and heart bigger than most. It wouldn't surprise me to see any or all of these young men be great coaches one day.

And from a moms perspective...they all seem to have great relationships with their parents and are very respectful to adults and are well liked by their teammates. That to me speaks volumes about the kind of young men they are.

I dont know about "Top" of anything - but my son Kyle can play the game.

Looks like we will once again be going through a recruiting struggle - just like we did with his older brother.

This college recruiting game continues to leave me scratching my scrawny balding head.

    LOL

    Yes he can!!!

Kyle Mastroianni OF North Meck 5'11 170

Plays his summer and fall ball with the On Deck O's. Outstanding defender in the outfield. Very good arm. A very good hitter. Kyle plays the game with tremendous passion and desire. I love to watch this guy play. He gets out of the box and he is always looking to make things happen. This kid can flat out play the game.

He will make a great college player. Hard nosed and wants it.

    Coach,

We really appreciate your assessment of Kyle.

And it means alot more to us because it is coming from you.

As for the process - and being a scarred veteran of it with my eldest - I can say with absolute certainty that I am glad I dont have 3 sons. LOL

Here's the sad part P. Before the recruiting process started with D, you had a ton of hair :bucktooth: After Kyle you may favor Kojak

Oh...and let me know if there is ever anything I can do to help.

    A Couple More Seniors

Trey McCraw - Parkland High School.. Small but strong as a bull! Knows the game well and has had success at all levels. Catches for Parkland but can play any position. If you know him you have seen he is a fun player to watch and if you umpire you know he is also an entertainer! Probably a 2nd baseman at the next level.

Ethan Wilmoth - Reagan High School - Hard throwing RH pitcher who also hits for power. Athletic build, with more growth potential. Probably projects over 6 foot. Very quiet which puts him under the radar. Last I heard, he was getting some looks from the Greensboro area. Great kid and family.

Ryan Glover - Pitches and always has. Six foot four or five and you can't coach that. Needs a little more on the fast ball but has a crazy split finger and change up. He will get stronger and once he gets used to being so tall, will be a good one! Always wants the ball for the big games. A no fear kind of pitcher..

Cody Buch- North Mecklenburg 4 year varsity starter @ SS
Excellent speed, incredible range, strong arm. Excellent power to all fields. Cody is an outstanding player that you can build a program around. He has a great feel for the game, and knows how to win.

Aaron Plummer- North Mecklenburg Team MVP as a sophomore. (2B) Outstanding tools/ great athlete: Great speed 6.8-6.9, good glove, strong arm, incredible power to all fields. This young man is a work horse; always working at his craft & consistently getting better & better. Aaron is definitely an impact player.

Both are all conference selections each of the last two years.
These are two of the finest players out there & excellent students as well.
I have watched these two play high school & travel ball for the past three years and they are outstanding competitors that you can build a team around. Gritty performers that will make a coach thankful he pick them up. I have watched them compete with the Heat travel team for the past few years and they have dominated offensively and have a talent for controlling the tempo of the game defensively.
They will both be very strong competitors at the next level.
