Thanksgiving is next week on Nov. 22nd. What do you have to be grateful for? I am grateful for being alive after a gunshot wound hospitalized me for almost 3 months in 1968. The doctors told my family there was no way that I would survive, but I did. For that I am grateful. I am also thankful for all our military protecting us. All the users and posters for making TBR what it is today. I am thankful for being well enough to travel around the softball fields and watch everyone’s DD play this wonderful sport. I am thankful for my wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.

Since I am posting this on TBR, I want to say how thankful I am for the many friends that I had initially met through this site.

On a more personal level, I am thankful to have my wife who is in her 9th year of a 5 year death sentence from cancer.

I am thankful that I am blessed man

    Thankful also

I am thankful for my DD who had the best attitude this weekend after hurting her arm and having to sit and only EP. I am also thankful for my wife to understand why things happen the way they do and going on with life (not neccesarily softball). I am thankful for my mom who recently had a heart attack and is allowed to stay with us a little longer. Words can't express how thankful I am to have built friendships over the years with people on TBR. For JFagala, once we were rivals on the field and now we try to make things happen on the same page! I am thankful to have met Cheese and how after the deals he gives me on bats, my DD has only gotten out twice. I am thankful to even sit near Cometfan and just listen to his stories of softball. I am thankful for my DD's new coaches, parents, and players! It is not always about winning and losing. It's about chemistry and everyone on the same page from coaches to players to parents. I am thankful for former coaches, players, and parents. Lots of life lessons as well as softball lessons learned over the years, good and bad.

And finally, I am greatful to have a nice nightshift job so I can pay for my DD's team fees and get to watch her play.....LOL. If you've seen me on Saturdays or Sundays after working all night, you know how much I struggle to watch the girls play. I am thankful that my DD's team will not let me sleep in between games, but come out to the car and blow the horn or play jokes on me just to get me to throw some in the batting cage or softtoss. Really, I would rather have them ready and lose sleep, than sleep and them play bad.

Everyone have a safe holiday season from the Lady Blues!

    Thankful

Thankful for God, life and my wonderful family that has stood by me through some really tough times at work, with my health, and with the Blues. Thanks to the families that believed in me and allowed their wonderful daughters to come through the Blues organization and touch my life! Thanks to the parents that continue to support me in every fashion, U are the best! Thanks to kids and parents in the softball world that make it a point to ask about my health and to say hello! Thanks to this BOARD for letting me run my mouth, I am good at that, well maybe some think I am not to good, haha!
Thanks for my parents who are wonderful examples of what we should be on earth, they care more for others than themselves and continue in their 80's to serve others and let their needs go! I love them deeply! and thanks to my grandmother 97 years young that ask everyday where is Rodney, hey that is worth it all to me! Last but most important, thanks to my Wife GALE, without her, I could never have taken on cancer with such a vigous fight! She is a rock and I owe her my life or maybe God just knew whom I needed to begin with! What do U think?
Be thankful everyday, I set around in self pity at times, made some wrong decisions, lost some things dear to me but it will all work out, got to believe.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of U and a special one to all the TBR crew that make this board the best darn softball forum! Hope all have a joyous holiday season.

    to add one more thing

I am so sorry I left this out.....

I am so thankful for our men and women fighting in the armed forces so that we can sit here and type what we want and complain when we want about "silly" things like softball. There are many kids I have coached in the last few years over seas right now fighting for me and you. I am thankful for them and their parents! :bowdown2::clap::tank::patriot::patriot:
