I agree with your assessment. South Caldwell will certainly miss Madison Bumgarner who no one can replace without a drop off and all the other great seniors but they seem to be loaded again, especially at the pitching and catching positions. Also several excellent players have transferred to South this year including one from Long Island, New York who is a really good pitcher and Home run hitter so the beat goes on.

I see SC getting a real run for their money this year. Watauga is gonna be nippin at their heels with a stacked lineup thats gonna hit the ball well 1-9 holes.
Defense is always the pride of the team and pitching should be able to keep up if a real reliable reliever steps up to the task. Granted Messer will probably gonna win all of his games but when hes not pitching they should be beatable because they lost a lot of varsity experience with last years graduating class. Alexander Central has a good group of seniors who will be ready to compete led by the catcher Josh Russell. ACR still has Wall and Haley who is a solid pitcher but their lineup has been thinned a bit by graduation as well.

Haley graduated last year. Matt Overbey is a very good ballplayer at ACR who appears to have been overlooked. ACR will have their work cut out for them.

South Caldwell will be tough to beat as usual. They are well coached and very talented. Mcdowell has a good crop of young talent, apitching staff with alot of experience, and a new coach with alot of enthusiasm. Alexander has a senior class with alot of character. They always play you tough. A.C. Reynolds will be tough led by good coaching and hard working players. East Burke will be tough led by Rhoney and Chism. Freedom will be rebuilding with good leadership from Reggie Washington. Watauga should have a solid hitting lineup. They need the pitching staff to step up with leadership from Tyler Moore. It should be a very competitive season.

29er, if you find that Watauga is in need of an extra arm this year, let me know. I had such a great time going up to Boone last year that I am willing to help. I'm good for a pitch or two as long as the weather is as nice as last year. If not, you can only count on one...but it will be a good one.

I am getting tired of seeing people hate on the wat. pitchers. they might not have the most over powering pichers, but knowing wat. and Coach Hardee they will be well prepared and scrapy and eager to get the job done and shove it in anyone they face. so stop underestimating them before they make you look stupid.
