NW4A Conference Basketball

After talking with several officials over the past couple of days there is some significant changes in the rules that should make the games more interesting. Some of these are if a player hangs on the rim in is not only a technical but an ejection for 2 games. Palming will be called anytime a players hand goes to the side of the ball. If an offensive player goes out of bounds to get around a pick he'll be called for delay of game. The officials have been told to clean it up. We'll see.

 

That very interesting if that is indeed true...Hanging on the rim is a rule that is judgemental on the officials part. The first time a player is suspended for hanging on the rim when players are directly under him...there will be an outcry.

Palming is something that will never change...the ref may call the first time or two to send a message but if he calls its everytime, we'll be playing 3 hour basketball games.

I'm courious, if they're calling delay of game on a wing running off a screen on the baseline, does that made it a dead ball or is that a dead ball and change of possession?

 

They will still let the player protect himself by hanging on the rim. The big thing is to stop the showboating.
Palming I agree, officials will vary on this call. On the running out of bounds it will be a change of possession.

 

The rule about a wing running out of bounds will affect Freedom the most if the officials call it. They love to run Ford off of those double screens and he goes out of bounds quite a bit using those screens.

I know most people on TBR have seen on past posts where some guys have said the new Twitty kid is better than Ethan, but yesterday on the first day he could practice i was AMAZED at how much ethan has improved his whole game. including how easy it is for him to dunk. Everybody watchout because E could rival zach greene as the NW4A's best guard

 

twitty kid is not new.. ali ford could dunk in the freedom auxilary gym.. and greene is not a point guard..

I know its just a scrimmage but McDowell will be playing Christ School and North Buncombe tomorrow night at North Buncombe (7 pm). That would be interesting to see the Titans match up with the guys from Christ School.
