    Freedom baseball players

Freedom lost every varsity player they had from last year with the exception of Reggie Washington. They all moved to Patton high school which is in the CVAC. Not real sure how this team will fair in this conf. as they are still very young, they have only two upperclassman on this team like they did last year at Freedom. Braves- give us a prediction on how you think this team my fair this year.

It's hard for me to say DB. The players, outside of Washington, that I liked, apparently, moved on to Patton. But what this does is give young players a chance to get playing time and get some seasoning in a very tough conference. My feeling is Freedom will go through growing pains this year, but will be a better team because of it. The experience they gain will be invaluable.

I'd love to hear your opinion on Freedom this year DB. I just don't know the young'uns and obviously, they have to be counted on this year to produce.

Freedom will be very young this year. Basically losing all but 1 from their starting lineup of a year ago, either through graduation or mainly transferring to Patton. In the big picture, a new coach, a young team and a program rebuilding, is what I see from Freedom this year. The Washington kid though provides good leadership and in this game who knows. Most of these kids did not play legion ball so they are mainly of the unknown.

    WOW, Braves Summons The Captain

    Thanks.

Well as previously reported, the Patriots have lost everyone including Coach Brandon Scott to the new RL Patton High School. Scott did a terric job last season, getting the post in mid year and is an up and comer.
All the rising super sophomores( Spies, Attaway,Lawson, Fine, Tallent, Baker, Grady and Mauney transfered along with Srs Ryan Hasson and Stephen Dyson. They also pick up pitcher David Carswell, a senior that is pretty solid player who left the team last year just before the season began. Those 3 can all pitch. Add in junior lefty Nick Newton and the Panthers will should be a serious challenge in the CVAC.

As for Freedom, Washington returns along with little used but solid Sr Jesse Williams who is a pretty good outfielder and a streaky LH stick.
Sophomore LH Matt Timmons has a lot of potential as a pitcher and a player. Craig Fullbright is also a sopomore and could be really good as well. Look for him to handle the catching duties and has great speed and can hit with power.
New Head Coach John Stafford will work them hard. And Braves, your exactly right, opportunties abound for kids to play that may otherwise not have gotten a look.
Sr. Devon Villenuava was a solid JV 2 years ago and may return as well.
Unfortunately, a tough conference will take its toll on the Patriots but they will field a team which looked doubtful before the fall.

    Thanks, Braves
I guess I was way off though on Freedom, I guess I did not really take into consideration them losing the meat of their team to a new school....Also, I did not realize that Freedom would take such a big blow from there being a new school ...That could change Freedoom's whole season now .....

Yeah i feel bad for freedom this year, they were really going to be talented and put up a fight in this conf.. After they had a tough building year with their young team last year. But all i know is Patton is going to take it to the teams they play this year. How is alexander's pitching look this year? I know they always have talent every year but havent heard much about them this year.

Drop and Drive ..... I am not sure how it will pan out....but they have a lot of arms......They will have two pitchers (Russell & Sigmon) very solid.....They also have the big lefty (suffered a knee injury in football early in the season, don't know how he will pan out for the season), and two jv's that will be jrs., (plus some more arms)....this year so if they all get the work they need they could have a really good staff........
