Fields of Dreams

Since it is a dead period. Here's something to those around. What HS have a great field of dreams? Who is working to improve theirs?

 

I know this, as most schools continue to work and improve their fields, Coach Bagwell at Ardrey Kell is converting his field into a stadium. After he is through this year, the only finishing touch will be the Dome...and that's probably next year.

 

Coach Hignight at Providence has a great complex there. I know it keeps getting better each year.

 

The foul lines at West Henderson are being bricked with new fencing. And I kid you not, we will have a "green monster" next year in left field.

 

Parkland High School

Many, many, many improvements are being made to Parkland High School baseball field. New bull pen, brick wall behind the plate with a new net and the old backstop is coming down. New concession stand and restrooms are coming sometime.. Coach Harper and others are really working hard over there. It will take a couple years but will be a super venue when complete.

Spare change anyone?? We are broke!

Ardrey Kell

AK will have a new brick backstop and netting for the new season instead of the current fenced backstop. May even have a halo around homeplate in if all goes well.

 

i know this is a baseball site, but achs has become the fieldof dreams for softball. if you are ever in taylorsville, stop in at central park and take a look. watauga has a real nice baseball field.

Hopewell HS has a great field and if you are ever down east check out Princeton HS baseball field. It is one of the best 1A playing surfaces you will find. Coach Proctor does an outstanding job with his facility.

 

SW Guilford has worked on their complex for years and still continues to find ways to improve it. The condition of the field, how it plays, and how it looks make it a great home for The Cowboys. There is a big green wall in the outfield that provides a good backdrop for hitters. The playing surface is well manicured and provides fielders with truer hopes than many fields. The concession stand and bathrooms are convenient and well kept. It's a great place for fans to watch a game. From 1b dugout to 3b dugout, fans are above the playing surface. When more bleachers are added, it really will be a great place to watch and play the game.
