Two freshman to watch in Forsyth County are Adam Griffin an Ryan Mayhew. Both kids are hard throwing righties with at least 3 pitches.
Griffin pushes mid 80's and Mayhew is in the low 80's. Both players attend West Forsyth High School. Both kids have played on the same usssa and Middle School baseball teams the last couple of years. They both know how to pitch and have been very successful at every level.

Did these kids just move to the area? Forsyth co. does not offer middle school baseball.

Forsyth County has Middle School baseball. It is not sanctioned by Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, but area schools compete against each other.

We (Jamestown) did play some (2) middle school teams from Forsyth but they were not school teams technically, but all the kids were from that school. I think the teams formed on their own. I think an Angels coach coached a team along with another man out of Kernersville named Tim coached a K-vegas team.

oh yeah, that little league stuff.

Too bad the WS/FC Schools won't sanction middle school baseball and softball and football for that matter. That's too bad.

How does West Forsyth always seem to have very good teams without middle school programs? Here is Davie Co. middle school sports are huge.

One Putt is correct. The Clemmons Middle School team went undefeated this year. Griffin and Mayhew were very strong pitchers. Throw hard, good off-speed pitches. Mayhew has great location and command. Griffin has great arm speed.

I agree. WS/FC should sanction all sports. The Middle School program is pretty good for not being sanctioned by the school system. Tryouts, good coaches, etc. These two kids will be noticed.

It wasn't "Little League stuff". The two teams we played were good teams that did not lose another game except to us. We had a really good team that year. Nobody touched us. They were good players.

I think West has good teams because they have a good REC program and feeder program, and good demographics.

I could say something else and make a joke but Plate Dad would chime in and then Braves would kill me.[IMG]

The travel baseball and softball teams in that area are also must be very good.

I didn't realize those so called "middle schools teams" were that competitive. Just repeating what I had heard from a Dad who transferred his kid from West Forsyth to Reynolds. (should have known better).

Griffin and Mayhew played for one of the best USSSA teams in NC the past couple of years. They played together with the Carolina Rockies.
