Saw that central had several kids sign. What happened to the Covinton's from Cabarrus?

 

Destiny (Sophomore) and Chasity (Freshman) are both at Chipola Junior College in Fla. Destiny started 23 games at Va Tech her freshman season before leaving Va Tech, and Chasity had signed her NLI to Va Tech. Both are at the Junior College (2007 National Champions) this 2008 season and will announce their intentions later in the spring. Look for the duo to hit the ACC again.

 

Has anyone seen Chipolte play. Their schedule this fall looked pretty good. On their roster they have 5 kids from NC. Sorry misspelling earlier 2-Covington's, 3 Moore's. Do they have a connection up here? Why aren't they going closer to home, athletes and the school.

 

Just specualtion, but Destiny has to sit out a year due to the transfer, I think. Her sister probably wanted to play with her so they could make a joint decision and play together in the future.

Pure speculation on my part.

 

You may be right, but the transfer rule doesn't take effect until next year.

 

This is why they went the junior college route, so they would not have to sit out. They will move on again to D1 after this season.

I think it was based on the unability to obtain a release from VT nothing to do with transfer.Interesting that the ncscfan email address is the coach at Chipola !!! Next year they should be able to play anywhere they wish.They would be a great asset to any team.

 

Conversations

I have had several conversations and e-mails with coaching staff at Chipola and am impressed with their dedication and support for their young ladies! They play an awesome schedule including many D-1 schools that are ranked in the top 25. They are dedicated to improving the academics of their players and take an active role in their classroom performance.

Appears on the surface this school is a good starting point for quality players that maybe borderline performers in classroom and need some time to adapt to the rigors of college.

The Moore girls are sisters...

They used to live in Harnett county, played at Union Pines I think..
Couple of years ago they covered the infield.. 3rd, SS. 2nd.
Absolutely 3 of the best hitters I ever saw for their age...

Brother Johnny played baseball and football at Union Pines...
Playing college baseball in Alabama... That's how they got to Chipola..
I wondered what happened to them.

Their older sister, Melissa played at UNC-W... 2002 & 2003 I think.
