...and wear white. If you have to, wear a white t-shirt over all of your warm clothes. We are going to have a white out on the home side.

    WEAR WHITE!

The coach at Mount Tabor is Barry Stewart. He had been an assistant there for a few years and a head coach at North Davidson and Grimsley. Getting closer to game time. This is going to be a great game and the weather looks like it is shaping up to be very nice- High of 49 and in the 20's overnight. Does everyone think there will be over 8000 people there? That should be a great atmosphere. I know Tabor is bringing there band on 2 charters and fans on another 2 charters along with alot of other fans driving up the mountain. Less than 2 days away- Let's get ready for a great atmosphere and some very good football.

I may be wrong, but if they are playing the game at WHS, 8,000 people will not fit in that stadium. Plus there is no parking.

I am not sure about getting that many people in the stadium but they will shuttle parking from the mall. It works very well.

It has come to my attention that I need to explain this little tirade of mine. It is one thing for us fans to get on this board and talk a little trash but it is completely irresponsible for a coach to make negative comments in the paper. The following quotes were from the coaches of the last two teams that we beat:

“They’re well coached,” Cook said(Central Cabarus Coach). “I’ll be honest with you, it’s probably not the most talented football team we’ve faced this year, but I will say this, they are the best-coached and they do the best job with what they’ve got.”

“Breitenstein is the best player that I’ve seen,” Purnell Swett head coach Mark Heil said. “He single-handedly beat us today.”

“To me he's the best football player we've seen - period,” Heil said. “He single-handily beat us. Without him we win by four touchdowns.”

Not only do I feel that these comments were out of line, I think that they were completely disrespectful to the 3 dozen or so other players that have busted their rears for this football team and community. No one can no more say that we would lose without Eric than I can say we would win. I wouldn’t trade Eric for any high school football player in the nation much less North Carolina. But, I also wouldn’t trade this football team either. They may not wow you with their size or speed but they will flat get after you. They get that from their coaches. To draw an analogy, this team is kind of like a six shooter. We beat the last two teams with one bullet. That’s right…they got beat by Barney Fife and his one bullet. But make no mistake about it, if we have to, we can get Andy involved. Sorry, I mixed in another analogy. Before anybody says anything, I am not comparing Eric to Barney Fife.

Back to Watauga v. Mount Tabor: I hope everyone stays healthy and be very careful on the roads.

whats negative about those comments? he said eric was the best he had seen this year? all he said was he had played more athletic teams and talented players- no bash on watuaga just a opinion that that coach felt. i would say that c. cabarrus and purnell played alot of athletic teams and thats not a big deal.watauga probably wasnt the most athletic- they gave you credit for the team winning though-isnt that what its about. i wouldnt care if a coach said we werent the most athletic or talented that doesnt matter- you guys won- you should be glad your still playing and not already in bball mode!
