    Cry, Cry

Let the big south 3/4 stay apart and go all over the place. Where was everyone when Cherryville and Bessemer City were traveling all over in the last conference they were in before the current. Thats right those schools are small...on the other end of the county.......and they don't matter. Its the bigger schools turn to travel and loose money because the far away schools bring no one. Let them Cry!!!!!!!! " We have a great thing in Gaston" YEAH RIGHT.........for who or is it whom??

pretty bitter post here. 8 years ago, huss had to travel to the mountain conference to play "in conference" so we know what it's like to travel a large distance to play a 2 hour game. We DO have a great thing in gaston county with the farthest school being Crest only 45 minutes away. as far as loosing money, 99% of the softball programs in hs are on the losing side of that. my issue is the 2-2.5 hour bus ride and how many girls are going to be "car sick" due to that trip, not to mention the safety issue from traveling on an outdated bus on side roads.

    Realignment of the NW

From the few coaches and AD's that I have spoken with,(and granted this is only a few) but overall they seem pretty much ok with the realignment, I spoke with the Hibriten AD today and he had no real objections, just hated to be moved up in classfication
Now how McDowell and ACR feel about it, I don't have a clue.

Just remember, these are proposals. Things can change between now and May

NCHSAA: "A final decision on realignment will likely take place in May, after schools and the realignment committee hold meetings in January and February respectively."

interesting article in the gaston gazette today about this, huss and south point traveling to three different counties to play ball. gaston county will propose that huss and south point join the rest of the gaston county schools and become a 9 team conference. hope that works out.

Old Fort Mt. and the gorge have been rated as two of the most dangerous highways to
travel in N.C. This new alignment will put McDowell having to travel up and down the
dangerous Old Fort Mt. for all their away conference games. Just saying.
