    What a great baseball family!
I wander how dad is going to split his time between LR & APP- tough choice; now add in Ryan at Butler. I really enjoyed sitting with Mr. Glass during our games and talking baseball. Great family.

One more '09 graduate is Kyle Gordon, who recently transfered from Porter Ridge to Forest Hills HS. Pitched for the Dirtbags this past summer. Touched 89 mph this past summer, and was constant at 86 - 87 mph.

    09's How about this team?

I was cleaning up some junk this weekend and found some old scorebooks from when my son played Little League when he was 11. In all-stars that year one of the teams he faced was Matthews American League. Get some of these kids that were on one team together - I looked around today to see where they were playing now:

    Cory Smith - Providence/Megastars
Drew Cassella - Providence/South Charlotte Panthers
    Eddie Covert - Providence/Diamond Devils (2006?)
Ryan Stetson - Audrey Kell/On Deck
Luke Bard - Charlotte Christian/South Charlotte Panthers
    Danny Vilet- Charlotte Catholic/On Deck

Pretty solid. Matthews always had the big program with big time players. Man we HATED them - mainly because they killed us all the time.

    Chad Rothlin

Chad is an 08 and headed to UNCC. But I definitely agree he is a heck of a player. He is an outstanding pitcher and a very very good hitter and fielder. Bottom line is he is a heck of a baseball player and a fine young man.

There'll be no more batches!! I do have 2 golden retrievers that I would like to turn into outfielders!! (hmmmmm....I see another movie idea!!!). Between the Davidson Copperheads and the Pineville Post 337 legion ball schedules this past summer we had 59 games during the month of June (had 2 days off!!). Didn't make 'em all but it was close!! :juggle:

Ryan is the last, he is a junior at Butler and has started focusing on playing 2B and 3B. Developing some very good hands and quick feet. At the plate, there is deceptive power.

Sure wish someone would go ahead and scoop him up!! Would save me a ton of miles on the ole Jeep.

They'll scoop him up quick enough. It will be fun this year watching Ryan, I think he's going to have a big year.
