Reply to Braves saying that Belmont Abbey Might have to go Division 1....They are a good team (not a great team) that happens to play in a very weak league, (that they have not even won) Put them in the Sac or the Peachbelt and see what happens to them!!

    Almost

Mt. Olive, from the CVAC, one game away from the world series last year. Hosted the regional. Peach Belt and SAC are very tough conferences. Sunshine state as well. I think Braves was kidding. Kind of an ol' punch in the ribs. I think you're looking at 4 of the best conferences in DII. You can slice them and dice them however you like, but all these leagues will have good teams.

    Are you friends with GrayBen?

Your very first post! Nice job. Rather than making negative comments about a program that is getting some props for doing a great job in recruiting. Why dont you tell us about the teams in the Sac and Peachbelt that you are familiar with. We would love to see some positive posts about these schools.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I just spit up on my monitor laughing so hard. Yeah, it's always amusing when one's first post is a negative response. You hope they sign up to help contribute in a positive way.

    conference formerly known as CVAC

As a former coach in the former CVAC I must say that it is a very solid conference. It is not the peach belt but lets look at the advantages of being a Peach Belt school. Most schools have 8 scholarships, all the Georgia schools get kids for free if they have a 3.0 GPA and are from the state of GA. All of the schools with the exception of UNC-P are from SC or GA. Most CVAC schools have anywhere from 3-4 scholarships. Now, look at the number of schools that are in each state. How many DI or mid-major DI schools are in those states compared to NC?
There are so many players in those states that could play at somewhere like a UNC-W, Elon, or App. State, but there are not enough DI schools for the players. So they are getting kids that most DII in NC are lucky to get year in and year out.

I love the SAC, Peach Belt, & CVAC. I love DII baseball. But it is like comparing apples to oranges. If you look at the CVAC schools that play SAC & Peach Belt schools that fair pretty well for the most part. Put almost any CVAC school in the one of those conferences and they will do just fine and within a couple of seasons will be at the top of the conference.
