I would like to keep it at 14 year olds up to seniors in HS. But if there are some 13 year olds that want to come I am not going to leave them out. The younger guys will benefit greatly imo because they have longer to put some of this stuff to use. The reponse has been tremendous. So far there are people coming from the mountains to the coast from Fayetteville to the upper Northeast of the state. I have a feeling this is going to be awesome. I can guarantee you we will have a good time and the boys will enjoy themselves.

Just to give some feedback from people that have contacted me. This "boot camp" is developing into a heckuva weekend. I have had some college coaches ask me about this as well as a couple of pro guys.

I don't know who is going to be there, but I know it is going to be a day to remember. Great workouts, great attendance, some surprise guests, outstanding food (with a X-mas twist) and I'm going to see what I can do about the weather.

I must admit I knew there would be a good turnout, but I had no idea the flood of responses Coach May is getting. He may actually have to have a cut off. So for those that are committed, I recommend that you get on board now because I don't want the coach to make me be the Grinch.

One question...is there any chance that the population of Stem may triple? I'm not sure they will know what to do about all us Western folks

But I may have to bring my personal attorney, Haskell Willingham, with me. He loves squirrel:bike:

At some point I will have to have a cut off

As soon as you know you are going to come please PM me asap. I will get a final head count probaly on Mon or Tues of next week. I dont want any kid that really wants to come not to be able to be there.

By the way Ive decided the second round of BP will be launcharama BP. No instruction , no do this dont do that , just get up there and rip the absolute s$%& out of it. Come out of your shoes. Now thats going to be a blast. By the way Chris Luck has already said he is going to out launch everyone there. Its worth some money to see some of these boys swing the stick. Were going to have some fun. After we endure some pain! Im mean after you endure some pain!

I think for the young players 13-15, this is an excellent opportunity to get a sampling of what the commitment is like to succeed in HS and beyond. It will certainly open your eyes to the challenges you will face in the future.

For you older guys.....set the example and let 'er rip!

    Let me just say

the younger guys can really benefit from this. Learning how to strengthen the core , learning how to improve your agility , quickness and speed is huge. There is a game plan out there you can follow that has been proven to be a great one. Playing all the time, taking ground balls and bp , without improving your athletic ability and your core strength is not a sound game plan. Learning what it takes to really "work" at the game is huge. And there is no substitute for a strong work ethic. This camp is about giving you something you can take back with you. Giving you a game plan for success. Just think about this for a moment. If someone told you that if you played just 30 minutes less X-box or watched just 30 minutes less tv a night. And you spent that 30 minutes a night doing something that over a consistent period of time would increase your ability to be a better baseball player would you be willing to do it? If not dont come. If so I will see you on the 22nd. For less than 20.00 you can have everything you need to go to work at being the best you can be. How much money have we spent so far? Its time to realize its not how much money your willing to spend , its how much effort your willing to expend.

I'm just going to go ahead and say this.......Coach May don't live in Stem. He just uses that city to make himself feel like a regular person. You actually have to drive on Thollie Green, and Tump Wilkins roads to find him. If any of you are going, please get your directions straight, or you may not get out of there. Oh, and when you get close to the school, you may notice that a few cars have pulled in behind you. Whatever you do, DON"T STOP. Keep driving until you see the school. If Coach May is not at the gate, ride around until you see him, and he can let you in, and close the gate behind you. No big deal...I'm just sayin'.....But Hey, the camp will be great!!!!
Edited to add that the area's, "claim to fame" is that most episodes of the "Twilight Zone", and the "X-Files" were shot in and around Stem. It would be helpful to note that both those shows mysteriously stopped having new episodes.
