    Whiteville Legion Field

Whiteville has an outstanding infield. Might be one of the best infields in the state. Now the outfield isn't that great especially the hill in the left field corner. But what everybody comments about when they play there is about how good the infield looks. Mr Dean's and Coach Harwood do an outstanding job keeping this field in great shape. You won't have a bad bounce on this infield!
The dugouts have artificial turf laid in it. The path from the dugout to the batters box is also laid out with turf.
The stands needs some improving but they do display their four state championship banners proudly. Now there's plenty of nice seats in the outfield though, this would be the football seats! So, you can't practice baseball in the fall due to the outfield is set up to be the football field with visitors seats and field goal posts.
Overall, Legion field is a great place to play ball, with all the loud fans in the stands this makes it a great atmosphere ball field!

I remember this particular dugout in Goose Feathers, Wyoming. Me and Erthline Campbell were checking it and....well...nevermind. But I remember telling Big "E" how nice it was.:biker:

Our dugouts looked pretty good until our rival high school came in and painted them with graffitti Sunday night. Other than that, they are not too shabby. They're large and spacious, double deck bench seating, 15 cubby holes for hat and glove, tall for tall people and bricked in but no water fountains.

This coming after they painted the area just before a football game and broke windows out and spray painted before the baseball game last year.

Some may find humor in this but when you volunteer your time to paint, grade, build, and care for your fields it does get old.

Fortunately they were stupid enough to write something that narrows down the list of culprits.
