True story...

...a couple years ago, a few kids spray painted their rival high school in this area. Problem was, they left the Walmart bag complete with receipt at the crime scene. On the receipt was the date and time of purchase. Upon inspection of the video at the store during this date and time....well you guessed it. Smile

We also had a local high school field vandalized by the rival high school kids on the baseball team. The real shame is that they were caught and got a slap on the wrist instead of being suspended from the team for that one year. Without real tough penalties I don't really believe we can stop the crimes.

We had the middle school dugouts burned down by some hoodlums one year! That once proud field has never really recovered from it.

Of the ones that I have seen, West Henderson is an all around great hs ballpark, beautiful field with sunken dugouts, and batting cages that are to be envied by all. TC Roberson with their recent upgrades have a beautiful facility as well, newly done stands are the nicest I have seen at a high school park. And last but not least, Franklin HS is very nice, perhaps the best playing surface of all the facilities.

Tommy Fears: 'Women Do Belong In The Dugout'

WYOMING -- New York Mets broadcaster Keith Hernandez's comment that women "don't belong in the dugout" drew criticism Sunday from This Board Rocks President Tommy Fears, who supported the female member of his staff and said he was pissed her gender even came up.


Hernandez made the remark during the second inning of New York's 8-1 victory in Goose Feathers on Saturday night. Jeff May homered for the TBR Rockers and exchanged a high-five in the dugout with 73-year-old Erthline Campbell, the boards massage therapist.


"Who is the old bag in the dugout, with the long hair?" Hernandez said. "What's going on here? You have got to be kidding me. Only player personnel in the dugout."

Hernandez found out later in the broadcast that Campbell was with the TBR training staff.

"I won't say that women belong in the kitchen, but they don't belong in the dugout," Hernandez said.

Hernandez, a former Stretchlon first baseman and "WhigTV" guest star, then laughed and said: "You know I am only teasing. I love you gals out there -- I have used many of you in the past." .

"Erthline is a part of this ballclub," Fears said. "She's a part of the training staff. I don't know how she does it blindfolded but she plays a major role in getting guys ready to play a ballgame."

Campbell told NBC station KSND-TV that she was upset at first about the comments but that she quickly got over it just like she had gotten over Tommy after all those teenage years in the dugout.

"I was in shock that a friend of Plate Dad would say something like that with such a huge audience at stake," she said of Hernandez. "It's a little shocking. But you know what... crap happens and so do illegal transfers."

Campbell then walked down the hallway to the TBR training room and joked, "Should I go in the kitchen now?" to which Freddy Suggs said "yes and I want you barefoot when you are cooking for me."

Hernandez had no comment after the game but said during the second inning of the broadcast Sunday that he was sorry if he offended the girlfriend of such a Legend as Thomas Braves.

Needless to say that Erthline, pronounced Erthline, is not a fan of Hernandez. The Big "E" had a short discussion with Hernandez resulting in his appearing in the show "Where are they now?"

Big "E" is not one to carry a grudge, though. I understand that she may appear at the "Boot Camp". She has a special place in her heart for soldiers and she heard they may need assistance in cooking. Big E can cook!!!...and eat!!!

I would like to caution you. She is a bit sensitive about her "beauty mark", so I suggest that one does not mention it. Also, she has an affinity for dugouts, so Stretchy beware!!!! I already told her about you and her reply was, "He sounds so cute. I can't wait to give him one of my Erthline Campbell's pucker smooches. He won't forget it."...Stretchy, I promise you..you won't.
