    Exactly, but to tell you the truth, I have a much more vested interest in watching a rival HS game than any ML game. Some of that is because you know the players playing, but I happen to find the passion and innocence for the game more appealing

    Maybe that is it the pocket size they need to make smaller.

    Amen brother. And I know just the Agency that will help them with that. If they ever want to negotiate a lower salary then I recommend Haskell Willingham's Sports Agency. He is uncanny about coming away from a salary negotiation with less money than was originally offered. That boy has got skilz!

    Today should begin a new day in MLB.

    It's ended up that this time period has been dubbed "The Steroid Era." We all know that it was overlooked, and possibly even encouraged. Today is a clean slate. Sins of the past are forgiven (but, of course, they will not be forgotten).

    I am saddened to see Clemens name in the report. I wonder how the Astros feel now (congrats Tejada. You made the sports headlines two days in a row!)

    I read a chunk of it today. I'm disappointed that almost everyone on the list, who was given an opportunity to talk to them did not do so.

    This is a bit of an extreme, but you'll understand where I am going with this. If you were innocent of a crime, would you not be claiming innocence from the start? Why hide behind lawyers, etc. when you can shout it out for yourself. It really bothers me that all but one (as I recall was mentioned) did not explain themselves to the report committee.

    44 Million Dollars

    That is the estimated price tag for the investigation. All this to say what anyone of us could have said. Steroids are bad. Several players used them. We need to have better testing in place. Lets move forward!! WOW! That is brilliant isnt it? All for only 44 million dollars.

    They could have taken that money and bought some needy kids Christmas presents. Built some homeless shelters. Fed some hungry families.

    44 Million Dollars!!! Now thats money well spent!

    They wanted to put closure on this steroid era. They needed to have an "investigation" to show that they were serious about it. So they put this out there and everyone buys it and we all just move forward. Brilliant isnt it?

    First of all, let me say that the names of those mentioned are tarnished forever, regardless of their alleged involvement. It is all third party information like BRAVES said. Sen. Mitchell did not have subponea power, that's a fact. He even acknowleged today that many potential interviewees did not cooperate with the commission and therefore Sen> MItchell could not effectively conduct a thorough investigation without this power. Being a former federal prosecutor and judge, he admitted to that himself.

    What bothers me the most about this is that this investigation was completed for political reasons, and whatever Commissioner Selig does will not really change much. With real power, the investigation would have compelled athletes to testify and maybe then the truth would have been revealed.

    How much difference would that have made???

    Soe=mthing to think about.

    Look at it this way. That is a MLB player contract.
