Just got a call from Richard Howlet. Walters State is looking for a couple of players to come in and play in the spring. They have lost a couple and need to replace them. They are looking for a SS and an OF.

Walters State is a 2 year community college in Morristown, TN.
The school and town are very nice.
The softball team has been successful and some players have transferred on to 4 year universities. The schedule is tough-30 or so games in the fall and over 60 in the spring. Athletes live in apartments close to campus-there are no dorms. The college is a good starting point and is less expensive than some 4 year colleges-most classes will transfer.

    ??

wasn't there a player or two that got a lot of posts on TBR in 2006/2007 that were going to play at Walters State? just don't remember names but reviewing their roster I didn't seem to notice names that stood out.

Miranda Tounzen (Enka) is still there. Sarah Soesbee(Enka) played one year and decided to continue her education, without softball, elsewhere ( she is very happy with her decision and is doing well). Kayla Short (Ashbrook) finished up her second year and, I believe, transferred to a 4 year school.
There are several NC players on the team this year.
