A question for anyone that has experience with metal cleats and pitchers.
What is the advantage to metal cleats other than the wear factor. I will have to buy two sets of cleats regardless because my daughters school team requires black and her travel team requires blue.

Who other than Ringor and Tanel market a ladies model in metal?

My plan right know is to get metal Ringors for school ball and rubber for travel.

If anyone has seen complications from alternating between the two shoes I would appreciate your advice.

Don't buy anything until you have tried the new women's Mizuno line

    Cleats

My daughter had all kinds of knee and lower back issue when she switched to steel Ringors in college. Her ortho said she would just have to live with it. I was not satisfied with that option so I researched shoes, intersoles, etc. and found that the Tanels, rubber cleats were the best for her particular needs! She has gone two seasons and this is her senior year wearing these shoes. Without them, I am not sure she would have played the four years due to the pain and aggravation. Of course, all kids are different and what solves issues for one may create issues for another. Only a sports trainer or sports medicine physician could tell U if there is any problem switching back and forth. Good luck.
Charlie may have something with Mizuno, have not tried but they used to not work for kids with wide feet.

Tanel doesnt have a "womans" metal cleat yet. Their current offering is a baseball cleat. They are supposed to have one later next year.

Is this new line a recent development?

I have seen the line they introduced late this past summer. Is there something newer than that? I have heard opinions on those shoes that are mixed just like some of the other brands.

    Bad wording I my part.

I actually meant a company that made women's cleats rubber or metal.
I forgot about Mizuno. I see college players wearing other metal cleats but I am guessing they are men's sizes.

    Buy What is comfortable!

I heard that ASA is not approving the use of metal cleats in travel ball, just the high schools are going metal.

I pitched in college, and metal cleats are definitley an advantage to a pitcher because it gives you a good 'plant' surface. Pitchers do not like to have their plant foot slide from under them, because it hurts control, speed, etc.
I would suggest your daughter use a cleat, whether it be baseball or softball, that fits her well and is comfortable. Everyone's foot is different and a good fit is important to playing well.

The only other recommendation I would make is to buy a cleat in which the metal cleats can be replaced without having to buy a whole new shoe. I know some brands, the cleats are molded into the sole. Once the metal wears down, you have to replace the whole shoe. Trust me, the metal will wear down within one season and the shoe will still be in perfectly good shape.

Unless your DD is a pitcher!

Pitchers typically will wear out the uppers as quickly as they wear out cleats. From age 12 on my pitcher DD went thru a glove and and a pair of shoes every year. Gloves simply rot away from the inside when you throw 4/5 times per week for 52 weeks the inside never gets time to get dry! Spend your $$ on the shoes. Almost any glove will do; for pitchers the lighter the better.

    Thanks

The glove issue is crazy with us. She has her old original glove she started with and she wont use anything else. She has a new one the exact same as the old one and she wont use it. The glove she is using is four years old and falling apart. When she uses the new glove she claims it hurts her leg. The worn out one doesn't. Have a trick for that? As many gloves as you have been through maybe you have heard what she is talking about.
