Thanks for the update titan90...if there are any updates from Freedom feel free to post them.

I'm down here in Raleigh having a good time looking forward to tomorrow. Here's a breakdown of what I have seen so far...

    Taft (CA)

Larry Drew: Highly touted point guard who is committed to North Carolina next year. Granted his team didn't have much competition tonight, my initial feeling is that he is a solid point guard ready for D1. He isn't spectacular or "eye-opening" like their current PG (Lawson) but solid and could start for the Heels next season if Lawson leaves early. Let's see what he does tomorrow night against a better team like Kinston.

    Jordan

Justin Watts- This kid played against Taft tonight and was the only one on his team able to produce. He's the leading scorer in the Triangle (27 ppg). Watts (6'5") from what I saw today is a player flying under the radar. He will be a steal for a mid-major D1. He's very athletic putting down mutiple dunks in the contest. Watts also has good range to be a productive mid-major player. His play down here at the Glaxo will definitely elevate his status.

    Kinston

Nathaniel Ingram: A solid player who does not get the proper credit because they have a sophomore that's highly touted. Ingram is an easy D2 calibur player. He will likely lead Kinston deep in the 3A playoffs.

Reggie Bullock: Touted as being maybe the best from Kinston since Jerry Stackhouse. He's 6'6" that plays out on the perimeter. The fact that Kinston was spreading the ball around, I couldn't access a fair judgement of his offensive production. That may change tomorrow against Taft. Remember, he's only a sophmore so I'm sure we'll hear plenty from him in the future.

    Ravenscroft

Ryan Kelly - 6'10" player who isn't restricted to the low post. He's extremely skilled but not a real athletic person. A sure mid-major and possible high major if under the right guidance. Kelly scored 28 against a really athletic Kinston. Kelly also had two other 6'10" players along side but they were soft inside.

    Word of God

John Wall -#1 PG in the 2009 class accoding to rivals.com, he was IMO the best guard on the floor tonight. More quickness and athletic ability than even Drew showed. Wall is being looked by many major D1's including all the Tobacco Road schools.

CJ Leslie - Class of 2010 already verbal to NC State. Athletic player who put on the best play of the night when he went coast to coast, behind his back and dunked it on a kid. And BTW he's 6'9" doing that type of stuff. Leslie also hit multiple perimeter shots. The kid has a lot of potential but only needs to be pushed by his coaches. That was something that I didn't see from the Word of God coaches. Leslie finished with 29 points.

Tonight was definitely a good look at the talent down here in Raleigh. Just about all the lower D1's from the local area were in attendance. Johnny Dawkins was in the house tonight as well as coaches from Oklahoma State and Michigan. I'm sure there will be more tomorrow as there will be better matchups.

Hey, back from the girls action...look for my analysis later on today on the girls forum. To answer your question, Broughton has a nice and spacious facility BUT their seating is less than McDowell. Infact their seating is less than Freedom or East Burke.

WRAL is quoted as saying Broughton's gym is the biggest HS gym in North Carolina. I really dont believe that at all. I've seen The Silver Dome seat as many as 6,500 comfortably and 8,500 SRO.
