2008 Top HS Teams

I thought this thread was about High School TEAMS????

 

Central Cabarrus lost 2 great coaches from last yr, along with 2 sr. I think the girls are excited about the college experience our new coach brings with her, which is helping the college bound sr's. CC will be flying under the radar, but look for them in post season. DD's last yr, so it is going to be a fun one.

It is, re-read the post, someone asked a simple question, where was she playing travel ball. No big deal, unless just trying to stir the pot....

His previous info had been about one player from Central Davidson, which is still a high school, i think.

Back on the subject of high school. Lets hear some feedback from the east.

The eastern 2A teams who advanced beyond the second round last year were:

Holmes
South Columbus
South Brunswick (final 4)
Croatan
Northwood
North Pitt
Bunn (final 4)
North Lenoir

Who's strong enough to repeat this year and what other eastern teams could potentially be there?

 

Central

Yea CC loss a couple kids but U got a nice gore group coming back and a pretty good group of JV players, some with varisty experience. Tara Hajer will step into a larger role and U still have one of the best pitching and catching combos in the SE. I expect U guys to be right there with Butler, North Davidson, Alexander Central, and others, the more things change, the more they remain the same.

 

CC Coach

The new Central Coach excelled in college at the D-1 level, setting some UNCC records I believe. She has played the game for many years (since age 6 or so) Her Dad has been a travel coach for years and was one of the first fastpitch coaches in this area to have success. Her HS career suffered a little due to injury but she has proven her ability on the field.

I think CC will be fine. Monte and Charlie are both outstanding softball minds and had become fixtures for the Vikings but give the new lady a chance. Remember CC has been a winner with several different coaches at the helm over the years. I have no doubt those young ladies at CC will produce again.

Sorry I keep running my mouth about this subject but wanted to give the new Coach a little support.

I support your response, CC will be fine, just different, Kristy will bring good things to the fields at CC! Give her the support she deserves and she and the team will do just fine!

Coach Killough has the support, there is not an issue. Like I stated earlier, the girls are excited about bringing in her college experience. If the girls are excited and happy that is all that matters. Change can be good.
