Underclassman Impact

There may have been a thread concerning the impact of underclassman on the HS softball community earlier but let's talk about some kids U all think will make some teams more competitive.

A few names: Taylor Allen, Cheyenne Griffin, Erica Gross, Stephanie Spain, Hailey Jarmon, Shaundee Woolsey, Jenn and Jess Bonham are all freshman and sophmores that I think can contribute to their respective schools.

I am sure there are many names to add! I am terrible on names, never forget faces and I have seen a ton of young talent during the fall. Let's reconize a few future stars. John, I know you have a few to name, I did not want to take your thunder.

I've had the opportunity to get to know Erica and family well over the years as well as coached her. She will definitely have another great year at West Forsyth. She exemplifies the "team player" every time she takes the field in practice or a game. She is the first to arrive, last to leave and always is asking what she can do to help the team. From carrying equipment, picking up trash, to taking extra ground balls or BP, she will do what it takes to make her and the team better.

Erica reminds me of Gina Allen in the fact she is such a great person and then softball player.

Very few players I have ever been around have such a great attitude and talent as Erica. This is a direct reflection of her Mom, Dad and brother and sister.

Erica is also an excellent student and has a very bright future. She will play at the next level.

Harnett County

We have several freshman in this area that will make a positive impact on the High Schools in our area:

Sierra Henderson-Holmes - Western Harnett - From Triad Power 16u
Amber Doll - Harnett Central - From Fuquay Bombs 14u.
Amber Benton - Harnett Central - From Fuquay Bombs 14u.
Holly Howard - Harnett Central - From Cape Fear Storms 16u (white)

Harnett Central is already one of the strongest 3A teams out there and these girls will contribute a lot to the team. Western is continually vying with Central for this Conferences bragging rights and these three incoming freshman will contribute everything they have to bring to help take those bragging rights away from Central.

 

St Stephens outlook

St. Stephens returns So-LaMeisha Gore, So-Tranea Jones, So-Holly Jones, So-Julia Wakefield.
St. Stephens last year (16-7) only lost 1 player (Sr) and with several good Juniors and 2 seniors returning should make a run for Conference Title.
