    Parkland & Glenn

This will be more of a regular season event. Last year we split. The last game Parkland won ending several years of losses to Glenn. This is going to be a great season for Parkland as many of the players will be returning with a few more coming up from the JV program. Field improvements showingh to commitment of coaches, players as well a parents. We will still be young compared to many.

We need to get Andy (Caroliner) on here and give us a "State of the Union" progress about Parkland. I have heard many good things going on there.

That should be a good one!

That should be a great game. I dont think there will be alot of runs scored in that game. Wish I could see that one.

I have my favorite umpires already lined up for the game at WH. Still devising a plan to get them to Swain since they don't like lefty pitchers. :13:

These 2 games should be battles this year. Brevard will also have a very strong team this year and will challenge West for the conference crown and these should also beat tight contests.

TC Roberson vs AC Reynolds always provide and exciting game and I expect nothing else from those 2 this spring.

    Alexander Central vs Watauga

The first game last year was a classic match-up with Dustin Harrington facing Tyler Moore. Watauga jumped out to an early lead with two HRs, and Moore held the lead through six. Harrington hit a mammoth walkoff HR off a relief pitcher to win it.
In game two, AC chose to pitch Harrington again rather than taking their best shot against South Caldwell. That tells you a little bit about the intensity of this rivalry right there. Game two was not close, as AC wore Watauga behind a dominating pitching performance by Harrington. That game on Watauga's senior night is over, but not forgotten.

Alexander Central always seems to have one really special, clutch two-way impact player who leads the team, Payne-Corbett-Harrington. Those are big shoes to fill, and in 08, the torch gets passed to Russell.

Watauga still has Tyler Moore along with seniors Moyer, Dunnigan & a nice group of 09's.

Watauga and Providence are going to play a game on ASU's field midway through conference play. It should be a good game along with a great atmosphere at the new turf field. Hopefully they will have the stadium built by then.

    Holy smokes!

I found out tonight from one our coaches that we have non-conference games/scrimmages with Mt. Tabor, Hopewell, Kernersville Glenn, and Rocky Mount. I knew about Rock Mount in the Impact thingy in Cary at that USA field but that's a tough OOC schedule. And we have Western Alamance.

What's that saying, "What doesn't kill you will make you better." Those are some top flight programs.
