Harnett Central is looking strong again in our 3A conference. Although they have lost their power house of a pitcher, Lauren Taylor, the still retain dynamos Toni Williford (signed letter of intent to NCSU) and Heather Nobles (signed letter of intent to Pfeiffer) with more talent remaining in the form of CFS and FB players. For the Cape Fear Valley Conference they remain the team to beat.

To help answer Betterbatter's question about teams from the East....North Pitt, North Lenoir and Croatan all lost All State selections to graduation.

North Pitt lost Faith Sutton..Pitcher and Player of the year for her district to UNC. North Lenoir lost their number one pitcher, Brittany Saunders, to Lenoir Comm. College (Volleyball) and Croatan lost Jenna Eatmon..pitcher of the year for her district to Liberty University.

South Columbus should be strong again with Kelly Strickland (LI to Liberty '08) and South Brunswick had a very fast team last year with some good sticks in the lineup. Bunn has had a good program for the last 3 years and should keep up the good work this year. North Lenoir and Croatan both have a very strong junior class in place right now with good pitching to take over where Saunders and Eatmon left off. Not sure where N. Pitt will be without Sutton.

A couple of teams in the East Central could make some noise as well...East Duplin and South Lenoir (final four '06).

Scotland, Richmond and Jack Britt will contend for the MSEC title.

I've heard that Garner could be very tough to beat in the Raleigh area this year.

    Mo B Garner team ......

.....will be tough! No doubt! Morgan Barbour, NC State, 08 class, is one of the best hitters in the state. They've got Amanda Beech, Kimmie Stewart, Cecily Parrott, and other fine players on the squad,......BUT...unfortunately, well, maybe, we'll see, Garner plays in the talent rich Greater Neuse Conf. with 4A State favorite, West Johnston.

Rumor has it North Davidson should have another strong year in 2008 with their second pitcher transferring in.
