JMO When posts are made about one or another player hitting X or pitching speed Y or home to first speed Z, well, the post opens up the naysayers and puts a kid in an awkward position of having to live up to some public induced criteria. Thats not good. Most of the time 90% of what we hear about times or speed etc. are probably stretching the truth or timing device problems or how to use them or when or where to clock...and on and on...BUT there still exist 10% or so that can step up and actually throw X or run Y, I'd bet my last dollar Chelsea Leonard is in that 10%. And she can hit too!

Well I was at a tournament and a college coach clocked her in school ball and summer ball. I sat right beside the college coach and both times she got 55 to 58. Shoot that is still good speed but speed isn't everything it's what you can do with the ball in which she can. Make it dance. However College coaches do not like people to stretch the truth. It's better to say lower than higher so the College coaches won't be disappointed.

Chelsea is headed to Louisville a top 25 school, guess they believe she can pitch and at a very high level. I also hear she is going to pitch for the St. Louis or Missouri Chaos this summer. Now Chelsea did not pitch summer ball this past year due to her hand injury and threw very little at State Games.

...come from Mr. Abbey AND Mr. FPitch? It appears to me that both of you have somekind of misunderstanding somewhere back in another thread that now you throw out as if I discount or discredit in anyway how special Chelsea Leonard awesome talent is, or for that matter, the very idea, that, ya'll would turn a post that I wrote in FACTS as to be negative when in FACT it was NOT. PLUS, if you'll read a little firther in that thread, you'll see where I also complimented this fine kid on her batting. Raise the bar means bring all of us up to a higher level, not hold onto it trying to get up.

....after reading over my last thread, SPELLCHECK came to mind. I hope that Abbey and FPitch know that there is no offense taken nor any offense intended by me. I think its fantastic that Chelsea is as dominant as she is. Her being on a HS roster makes that HS team one of the tops in 2008! Now.....lets open up a thread that is specific to Chelsea committing, if she has, and we, at TBR, can then discuss that subject. I, for one, would love to hear WAY more about it! What does Louisville bring to the SBall world in the Big East/NCAA? Whos the coach? PEACE!

I did not think or even intend to bring U into this. I was answering Fastpitch whom I thought was saying he clocked Chelsea this summer which would have been impossible.

Rumor has it another softball player is trying to get into ndavidson. is she going there for the softball program? or is she just trying to find another high school to attend since she was forced out where she was attending because of a very serious incident with another student?

All schools need to set some boundries and standards.

first let me say welcome to this board rocks softball forum.

second, let me bring ya up on our rules. no gossip, try to stick with facts only....i know you havent, but, no insulting players, coaches or other parents.
