I don't believe I said anything bad about Kincaid either. He is a good ball player. So is Ford{he has that native McDowell basketball talent}LOL. I mean't no direspect to any of the players mentioned. Like you said this is a forum board and I voiced my opinion just as you have. The point I was getting at was in the games I've watched, teams seem to focus on stopping Hausley more than any other 1 player in the conference and that is why I would pick him as the POY at this point in the season just as I would give the girls nod to Ali Ford. And yes Dribbles I am a McDowell fan.

The reason i picked ethan for POY is he is the best player that i have seen play. If Mcdowell had beaten us my opinion might have changed, if Petey had had a better showing at said game my opinion might have changed but thats what it is : an opinion

I can respect that. You weren't there to see Petey score 36 points and jam home 5. Maybe you didn't get to see the show he put on at the Freedom Christmas Tourney. I believe his team won that didn't they? Maybe we can give you a better show when you come to McDowell.

When it comes to the girls side.....For you its more of personal bias than that of logic. Which is completely wrong.

Yes Im a McDowell man, but have lots of respect for Freedom (After all, I did announcing duties at Freedom). The argument of POY, right now, goes to Kurie Washington for being able to score and to contribute to the efficiency of the total floor game - on offense AND defense. Ali Ford is a hell of a scorer and can make steals and assists, but she's not known for contention of rebounds, going after loose balls, blocking shots, etc. Washington muscles in her points, but also goes after rebounds on both sides, makes assists, gets steals, block shots, sells tickets & sells popcorn, sweeps & mops the floors, keeps score....(well maybe not the last three, but you get the point). Ford does big things but she has no supporting cast outside of Chelsea Connelly.

In other words, right now, Washington is the best overall in every aspect of the game.

On to the topic of the thread here's my $.02

    POY: Ryan Hargrave, Alexander Central

COY: Casey Rogers, Freedom and Jon Hancock, East Burke

    All-Conference Team
    Ryan Hargrave, Alexander Central
    Petey Hausley, McDowell
    Ethan Kincaid, Freedom
    Cody Shuffler, East Burke
    D.J. Clement, A.C. Reynolds
    Terrence Kincaid, McDowell

    Honorable Mention
    Sam Ford, Freedom
    Zack Greene, Watauga

Definitely interesting some of the stuff I'm reading on here...

First off...there's a general consensus among us that Hausley and Hargrave are the top POY canidates...and I have no problem with that. My issue comes on the All-Conference selections. I cannot beieve the number of folks who are just flat out leaving out "the other Kincaid" in our conference.

Anybody who thinks Terrance Kincaid should not be one of the top 5 in conference needs to be examined. How many games this season have we seen Hausley get in foul trouble only for Buggy to elevate his game and help pull out the victory? whspioneers...I especially noticed that you didn't have him on your team at all? All I gotta do is remind you of the game on your home court three weeks ago...All but two of Kincaid's points in that particular game occured in the second half. Meanwhile Hausley had one of his worst night's of the season up there. When Watauga was ahead in the third quarter, it was Buggy who was gathering the big time rebounds and then scoring or dishing off asissts.

Terrance is IMO one of the top 3 or 4 in the conference. Hausley and Hargrave are 1 and 2 in my eyes but I'll take Buggy at #3 over Clement. DJ while he is tall, athletic and can shoot fairly well, I think Terrance's speed, ability to get to the basket and his overall athletic ability makes up for the lack of height and range. Tony, I agree with your point that Hausley puts the Titans on a different level but I think a lot of people seriously underestimate just how much we would drop off if we didn't have Kincaid in there.

When the actual vote for all-conference and POY takes place, I think there's actually a fair chance that Kincaid will get some POY votes and that will hurt either Hausley or Hargrave.

Here' my choices for All-Conference, POY, COY...

    All Conference Team:

    Petey Hausley
    Terrance Kincaid
    Ryan Hargrave
    DJ Clement
    Ethan Kincaid

    Reserves:

    Zack Greene
    Cody Shuffler

    Player of the Year:

    Petey Hausley

    Coach of the Year:

Jon Hancock: I think it's extremely close between him and Casey Rogers right now. But I think Hanock is getting the absolute maximum that he can get from his pool of players. But if Casey can bring his kids to McDowell and pull out a win, then that would be more than enough for me to give him the honors.

I am glad this is only loyal fans opinions. I do not have a son
playing on any teams, but I am always at some game watching.
I can't even imagine you not having Shuffler as one of the top players.
He is scoring 20+ points per game in conference play and their team
is sitting close to the top.( still with McDowell & Freedom) to play.
This conference this year has some of the best talent it has had in many
years and it is almost impossible to narrow it down to 5. I'm glad I
don't have the job of picking this all conference team and glad I am a
    NW4A conference fan.
