I want to give a shout out to the Lenoir Rhyne Baseball coaches and players for allowing the Impact Pitcher Catcher Showcase to be held at their facilities today. It took alot of work by them to get this done and I want all of you to know how much everyone appreciates you allowing it to be held at your place each year. Coach Hendricks was also trying to get his guys out there and get in a practice as soon as the field was handed back over to his guys. Again thanks LR Baseball for the opportunity that you allowed these young men to have. And for the outstanding hospitality shown by all your coaches and players.

you are welcome, from the players. Like I said before, the players got a couple extra hours of sleep, as we usually practice in the mornings on saturdays. So, in that regard.....Thank you!

They have an opportunity to have potential recruits on their campuses and in their facilities which can be a recruiting advantage for them, plus they dont have to leave town to see them. They can sell their programs!!

    care

I suppose care must be taken not to have too much recruiting advantage; don't know the NCAA rules, but I'm sure that colleges hosting such events make sure that they walk the straight and narrow when it comes to having potential recruits on their campuses.

I don't want people to get the impression that at an event like this the host coaches are walking around talking to players attending. That's not the case. The coaches already have recruits on campus that are getting their attention and are helping with the organization of an event like this; as well as getting their own team ready for practice.

The benefit is the opportunity for a player to see their campus and facilities, but not to enter discussions with them. The coaches are too busy with their own team as well as scheduled recruits.

Ditto!!! on the great job by Da Bears this weekend. btw, if we would have had 1 or 2 more TBR members we could have called it a convention or if Braves would have grilled it could have been a party.

was just wondering if the NCAA regulates such events where you have HS athletes on campus displaying their talents. They seem to want to have a say on just about anything with their many "rules".

NCAA rules DO NOT allow for individual workouts to take place on a D1 campus. D2,D3, and Juco are allowed to have them.
