    I also heard of a catcher who was back near the netting attempting to catch a foul ball and the ball skimmed the netting enough to change its course and hit the catcher in the face...again, leave it on if possible. It will protect those pearly whites and the 6000 dollar investment in them.

    Bmac- What you say really makes sense. What are your thoughts about how and when a catcher should block the plate?

    Sometimes the helmet has to come off to see ball.

    I do not think the catcher could make this attempt with mask on ??

    No she did not catch the ball .....

    Maybe it was this time it took to flip off the MASK ??

    And I guess that SIZE of catcher matters ..

    These catchers are not worried about getting blasted @ the plate !

    ....is my ? The catcher is blocking the path of the runner to advance to the base without the ball in her possession. Help me out TBR rule gurus.
