I've heard so much about this young man from Coach Evans and Tarleton, but I haven't had a chance to see him pitch until Sunday.....unbelievable!!!!

First, he is tall...I mean tall!!!! Sean is easily 6'5" and still growing. Many young pitchers at this height are still a little gangly in their mechanics; they are still getting used to their long arms and legs. But not Sean. He is fluid in his mechanics and has an effortless release that he maintains pitch after pitch. He has a sharp over the top curveball with a tight spin ala Jimmy Messer. Many pitcher's fastball tops out at the HS level, but not Madden's. It is so effortless that by the time his body fills out he will add to this already explosive pitch (can sit at 89-91 consistently).

The kid has confidence, a great makeup and in my opinion will dominate this year.

The reason I'm posting this now is because I missed Sean's HS years and never had a chance to see him pitch. I don't believe in building somebody up unless I mean what I say. In Sean Madden's case, he is the best freshman pitcher I have seen (talent wise) since Andrew Miller. He has that kind of stuff.

He's an elite pitcher that if he continues to work hard and gain some college experience, Sean will have the pro guys drooling counting down the days before the draft (in 2010).

I don't like to put pressure on a young man before he is ready, but mark my word, Sean Madden can become one of the premiere college pitchers in our state.

I better re-certify my agent status (Braves Baseball and Hunting Agency)

Your partners Scott Boras and Charlton Heston have moved that agency to California and something tells me you just might not be able to hang with that LA crowd?

Well Braves Ive been saying that same thing for years about this young man. Get him to tell you about the nick name I gave him. "Woody".

I coached Sean from 9u up to 13u and he was always our ace. I had several guys that could throw harder but no one could out pitch him. The kid was so mature at a young age about baseball. I knew LR got a gem when he decided to attend. Sean understands how to get people out and he has outstanding command of all his pitches.

Also Sean is a relentless worker. He is not going to be outworked by anyone. I noticed Saturday that he had put on some weight and was starting to fill out some. I too believe he is going to be an absolute stud for the Bears. He has a bright future. And he is an outstanding student as well.

Okay, okay...first of all, I lived in LA. They love me. And second of all I would never associate with Boras or Boris.

I'm with Haskell Willingham, esq. and there is nothing that Haskell doesn't know about................fishing. But we will put on a full court press when it's Sean's time, so to all you other agent wannabees....back off!!!! Including you Boris Boras

Madden has a ton of potential. He has the size, the mechanics, and the ability to achieve all of his goals. Not only that, but he works his ass off. Coach Hendricks will have this kid poy of the SAC if Madden listens to him.....and he will.

    Remember the movie Toy Story?

The sheriff's name was Woody. They are built just alike. Hey Im happy for Sean. The kid works hard and is a great young man. He will be very successfull.

LRBaseballer make sure Sean is reminded of his nickname for me!

Sean has come to LR and gone from a freshman who was having a little trouble with throwing strikes, mainly because I was having him work on something different every time he pitched, to a guy who is a budding star.

The thing that has impressed me the most is his ability to take a suggestion and add it to his mechanics overnight. He is probably the most intelligent player on and off the field i have ever coached. His work ethic is excellent.

I hope all the things Braves and others see in his potential come true but he is already to the point that he will throw alot of innings in big situation as a freshman.

We have four freshman who I truly believe will reshape the future of LR over the next few years. To go along with four soph's, Including TJ, who are already proven winners at this level.

BTW, Check out freshman Tyler Powell from Belmont Abbey. Maybe the best freshman you will see at this level.

    Superman can fly

You better hang on tight cause when Coach gets behind the wheel of that red truck he flys around those curves on the backroads leading to HS stadiums. I was doing 80 and he dusted me on the way to Western Alamance. What a scary ride!

I can just imagine :bike: following him :sport-smiley-12: to the beach!!!
