So according to some of the posts the Freedom girls have the COY, the POY, and another girl that is first team all conference but they have the fouth best overall record and are not in first place in the conference. Someone is going to have to explain that to me. I know they played some tough non-conf. teams but so did other teams in the NW4A. I think Amber has done a great job and is a wonderful coach. But, if there is that much talent there then maybe the expectations should be higher. I would have voted for Amber/Thad myself until they made it clear how much talent they have. I think Jeff Parham has done a great job also with a very young team. He would get my vote now.

In this discussion there is no need to even look at overall record. It does not come into factor. I don't think anyone can compare to the teams we played in non-conference. (West Charlotte, Butler, Providence Day, TC Roberson(2x), and Forestview. All that is needed to be looked at is the Conference record and how the team faired in that. So far, thru 7 conference games FHS has beaten everyone but McDowell by double figures(except EB- 9 pts).

This thread has chosen 5 or 6 players for all-conference, but when it gets to the real selection the nominations will be sloted. I think the following allotments are correct and then the coaches will vote on who is to make the team. Top 10 vote getters are all conference and the remaining players that receive a vote get honorable mention, so more than likely the conferences 1st place team will have 3 to 4 players and the 2nd place team will have 2 to 3 players. So yes, we do have a few all conference players on our team, so does McDowell, East Burke, AC Reynolds, and East Burke.

I think that Amber deserves COY so far, as does Ali for POY. That doesn't mean I'm right and it doesn't mean she will get it. If you run the table in this conference you probably deserve COY. So if McDowell runs it, Franklin will and probably deserves COY. If South were to upset another team or two, then Parham would get some consideration, if they only beat AC and Watauga from here on out he won't.

It's not voting for Amber/Thad. I call inbound plays and work with the post players.. It's unfair to Amber to even mention my name in any thread, unless you are Tony and mad at me or something...HA, so please do not do it.

    nomination Allottments
    1st- 5
    2nd- 4
    3rd- 3
    4th-3
    5th-2
    6th-2
    7th-1

When you talk about winning every game but the EB game by double figures, you must have forgot that you only beat ACHS by 4

Now may be the best time for this discussion. Interested to hear what people think now and if anyone has had a change of heart. My vote would still go with Jeff Parham for COY and Washington for POY. What does everyone else think?

washington-poy she proved her team worth this whole year as well as shining individually.
franklin-coy the guys undefeated in the conference you cant coach better than that. Parham did a great job-just believe an undefeated record deserves a little recognition for a first year coach no matter what the school and tradition

as far as all conf teams it could go a few ways
    definitely ford-freedom
    washington-mcdowell
    hamilton-mcdowell
    ?
    ?
you guys and gals can sort out the last two

If I had to make a last minute change it would be Chelsea Connelly making top 5 all conference. And to be honest I would give some consideration for Kelsea Greene. Her defensive effort and her percise passing especially over the past three weeks has been very important to the success of the Lady Titans.
